There are no quick fixes!

 Tuesday 16th April 2024

I opened my Facebook this morning to see a post "Looking for people who want to lose a stone or more in the next 4 weeks?" deep sigh!  The post has had so many replies too.  There are no quick fixes, lotions or potions that work long term and it makes me sad that people are so desperate to lose weight that they'll try anything.

I know I'll never be skinny again and I'm okay with that because I love eating and drinking, I do want to be healthy though which is why I eat the best I can when I can and move more within my abilities which hasn't been too much the last few years since my accident but it hasn't stopped me trying.

I managed half hour at the gym yesterday on treadmill and recumbent bike, also did a few extra steps than usual walking around doing stuff.  We did go to the cafe for breakfast and I was super impressed, I'm not usually that impressed by cooked breakfasts, the sausage or  beans are usually rough but not these.  I forgot the photo but the bacon was thick and delicious, the beans were just how I like them and the whole experience was lovely.  It's called (1) Facebook Evie's kitchen on Moat House lane, they do good cakes too, I got Aryn one.

I did my Chinese fakeaway and we were all impressed.  I did my chow mein recipe from our website Chicken Chow Mein (behappyowls.com) I didn't use breast though, I bought a pack of chicken thighs for just under £3 and airfried them for 20 minutes turning once, I used 3 of them as the meat in the chow mein.  The fried rice, I used a tablespoon of oil I can't remember if I used avocado or sesame oil.  I also used 4 eggs and a tablespoon of soy sauce, next time I'd use a frying pan rather than my wok and I'd cook the eggs seperately rather than trying to cook it at the side of the rice.

These chicken chunks were delicious!  I got a 9/10 from himself, not sure what I have to do to get the 10/10!  Apparently you can't get 10/10, cos if I do he said we're opening our own :)

I've had a good 7 hours sleep, I'm ready for my week but first I need to jump in the shower before Aryn, so I'm going now.

Have a great day, remember, there's no quick fixes xx

Mwah, luv ya

Love me xx
