I love a Monday I do...

Monday 10th August 2020
Everything happens for a reason, a season or a lifetime.

Monday, the day of the week when you get to decide your attitude for the first day of the week, I know for some weeks begin on a Sunday, actually the WW week begins on a Sunday but in my head, my WW week always starts on a Monday, it always has and it always will, it never mattered what day I went to a workshop (meeting back then) as a member to get weighed, Monday was always the day I drew a line and refocused after the weekend.

Although my main meal yeserday wasn't too bad, I used up some of the leftover rice from my Marlie's Menu meals and made an egg fried rice using up the fresh veg in the fridge, very nice it was too.

Vicky asked me if I wanted anything from Aldi and because Alfie had a funny turn again on Saturday and had been behaving odd and not touched his dog food, I asked her to get me a small joint of beef, just under a fiver, ready in 45 minutes and he blinking loved it, I also managed to get my tea out of it a nice beef and mustard sandwich.  Some might say that's a bit of a luxury for a dog but I looked at a couple of the dog treats I've been known to buy him the ones £2.50 for 1 the other £3.10 for a packet and he only eats the stuff off the outside and the rest goes out for the foxes, per kg they're 6 times the price of best beef - ridiculous!  He'd had a tin of hot dogs the day before bless him, they're better value than beef and cheaper than dog food too lol.

He actually causes me more hassle in the night than mom did last night, making noises, trying to dig a hole in the rug at midnight, scratching the door as he runs in his sleep and he's lying on this side in my doorway because my floors the coolest.   Deep sigh for waking me up at midnight when I was in a deep sleep, then again at 4am when I couldn't go back to sleep so decided to sit up and meditate.  That did the trick, after 15 minutes of that, I lay down and tried again and managed to fall back to sleep until I heard mom at 6.30 - yay to getting some sleep!  He's got to go back to the vets today for his second lot of jabs and a follow up about his little turns, fingers crossed.

I seem to have maintenance sussed and I'll take that for now, I'm the same weight more  as I was at the start of the year, actually I'm the same weight as I was at the start of 2019 and 2018, so this is obviously my dementia weight ;), I lose a few pounds now and again and then it goes back up, it's actually not far off my start weight from when I joined in 2004 but I'm in a far better place in my head than I was back then, the food I eat is much better too, I don't eat a great deal of junk, I just eat and drink too much of the good stuff.

My tastes have definitely changed, I like the taste of food that's good for me, which reminds me I didn't have an yogurt yesterday, will double up today!  See that's not what I should do, so I won't I'll just have some yogurt today, I did enjoy a big plum and satsuma yesterday though, I loved the broccoli and peppers in that meal I had.

Yeah still focusing on the tweaks and habits and behaviour changes, doing my best to survive the dementia days, watching my mom disappear in front of me and trying not to let those feelings send me to the kitchen for comfort.  She played up yesterday morning because I was going upstairs to work so frustrating because you can't rationalise with the none rational brain can ya.

I'm feeling positive though about the future, I'm living a day at a time, and I'm taking care of myself to the best of my ability, being the best version of me that I can be and hopefully helping others to do the same.

Remember you can be healthy at any weight, you don't have to get thin and then eat well, eat well now, move a little more than you did before and hopefully weight loss will become the side effect and if it doesn't at least you're as healthy as you can be.

Here's to making good choices and paying attention to whether you're hungry or not.

Mwah, luv ya

Love me xx
