Crashing cars & pulling teeth!

Saturday 18th June 2022
Some days are just emotional!

Well what can I say, yesterday saw me do this to his car...

I was gutted, this bloody car hates me, that's twice I've knocked it into something, this time a lamppost!  Thankfully he his a calm man and told me not to be upset as it's just metal and plastic.  I was only driving it because the Saab had a 'gearbox malfunction' message on it and I didn't wanna risk breaking down.  I've now took that to this lovely man who's helped me out at short notice a couple of times now.
the land line doesn't work, if you use him, ring the mobile.

Unfortunately, it wasn't an electric issue so there is something wrong with the gearbox, we've agreed he can do a gearbox service next week to see if that helps, if now, I'm just gonna drive it till it dies as it was a very cheap car bought as a runaround that didn't matter if I reversed it into lampposts, but guess what, I never have!

Anyway enough of cars!  Aryn was really brave at his first trip to the dentist where he had treatment, his last baby tooth removed and one filling.  It's weird sitting watching someone stick needles into the mouth of  someone you care about!

Weigh day today, this is the summary of my week.  On a positive, at least I've tracked absolutely everything 100%.  I resisted KFC whilst Aryn ate his, I did have one wing but seriously, normally I'd eat loads.

As you can see my daily intake of calories is more than it should be over the week, I'm pleased with the rest if I'm honest, my sugar intake is excellent, now to work on getting it down overall.

Yesterday we enjoyed bbq chicken wings, I had bacon, egg, cherry tomatoes and bread for breakfast.  Once I've eaten the last three slices of bacon this morning, I won't buy any more for a while, that'll help.  Actually if I want to cook it, I need to hurry up cos I've got to go to work in half hour!

Oh I nearly forgot to mention the highlight of my day (Elle don't scroll down or read no more, there feet pics), my lovely friend V treated me to pedicure and manicure set,

I love my Strictly Professional Facial and Body products (talk to V if you're interested in them, she helped me put together a morning/evening routine that's really made a difference to my skin).

I gave my hands and feet a bath using the products, then followed through with all the others to give my hands and feet a lovely treatment, took an hour out to forget about dentists, car crashes, diets etc, just me and my creams :)

This was the state of my heals before;

This was the same foot afterwards

I didn't have a foot file but will get one for future use, but I'm pleased with the results after one treatment and I shall use the spray, lotion and cream inbetween my weekly indulgent treatment because I hate it when my heals crack and I stopped biting my nails last year after 50 years of biting them so as you can imagine they need some help1

Right I need to get on, I want a bacon sarnie to take to work,

Well at least I'm tracking!

Friday 17th June 2022
You're doing great.

It's gonna be a hot one today apparently, it was pretty damn warm yesterday, 25 degrees on my drive home last night but it didn't stop me cooking my dinner.  I'd looked forward to it all day after fancying it for a few days now.  A meal mom used to make, tinned stewing steak with added onions and oxo!  It set me back 700 calories but it was worth it, that also included a slice of bread and butter to mop up what was left in the pan.

I also tried this houmous which was tasty, but no better than any other houmous out there.

I managed to almost stay within my allowance and that was with a Cornetto and a packet of Dorito's so I'm getting better.  Today I've got the other plate of my stewed steak dinner as Aryn didn't want anything last night, I'll look forward to that again.

I'm going to have eggs, bacon and tomato for breakfast with bread, set me up for the day, then eat the dinner late afternoon and those two meals should do me today, especially with the temperature being ridiculously hot.

It's been an interesting week in our huddles, I love to see lights go on it peoples heads when we give them some information, one more to do tomorrow which I will enjoy again, then I'm off for a couple of nights in the motorhome.

But first Aryn's got the dentist today, poor love has fillings and she's also going to take his last baby tooth out which is stopping another one growing properly. I need to get things sorted to take as himself won't be coming back first, were meeting him there.

Been up since half four again, so I'll have a couple of hours chilling with the news and my laptop, will plan next weeks meeting this morning, then it's done.  As the image above says - what do you need today?  I need some relaxation and sleep later, maybe a bit of fresh air, sit in the garden before the sun comes round later, ooo yeah listen to my book.

Whatever you're up to, enjoy.

Mwah, luv ya

Bloomin bread!

Thursday 16th June 2022
Take care of you...

The best thing I ate yesterday was my bacon and mushroom sandwich I had for breakfast.  We went to Maccy's to try the new Italian burgers, Aryn wasn't keen on his chicken one, he prefers the 99p chicken one!  The Italian stack was good, the tomato sauce on it was a little too much, like a strong, sweet pizza sauce, the bun was good and so were the burgers, but no matter what I have from Maccy's I always wish I'd had a big mac, it can't be beaten in my opinion.

After our morning huddle, Aryn and I went to Monkey Forest at Trentham, a must do if you haven't and right now they have babies there, so cute.

We didn't stay long because Aryn just can't handle the heat, no idea what I'm going to do with him in the summer if we want to go out for days or away at the weekends!

My diet didn't improve, I had a cheese sandwich and 2 packets of crisps for my tea, what is going on with me, I need to get my healthy on properly - must try harder!

I started watching 'The Split' yesterday, really enjoying it, I can binge on that now for a bit, easily pleased me.

Here's to a better day, a busy day, seeing lots of lovely members at our 3 huddles.

I will eat better today!  There is broccoli in the fridge I will use up, will go check what we can have with it, I froze the chicken kebabs because they were use by yesterday.  I'm rubbish at meal planning ain't I, I just never know what I'm going to fancy but I do need to work on it for sure and it needs to be done before I shop and fill the freezer full of stuff I don't use quick enough.

Right I've been away since just after 4 thanks to noisy birds, they were making a right noise, crows or something they sounded like but who knows, I'll sleep early tonight hopefully.

Have a great day xx

Another day, another 3 meals :)

Wednesday 15th June 2022
The way you speak to yourself matters.

I had a hungry day yesterday, so as you'd guess I went over my allowance.  I did eat well though, good healthy food.  For breakfast I had mackerel on toast, which was delicious even if it did repeat on me throughout the morning.  I didn't get back from dentist till 2.30 and we had an appointment at 3, so we had to cook and eat in that short time!  I knocked this up in 5 minutes, yes 5 short minutes.

Tinned spaghetti warmed on the hob, whilst cooking the micro chips in the microwave and frying my eggs in a pan.  Fast food at it's best and only 344 calories in total.

It ended up they were running late for our appointment so we ended up having a slice of cake whilst we waited, a slice is supposed to be a 1/6 but we had 1/4 each and it cost me 400 calories but ma'an it was amazing, the last cake left from the tea party we didn't have over the jubilee.  I took the other half for Elle and it got her thumbs up too, Amazing cake if you like lemon curd, even though it's a lime curd cake, or a lemon curse cake as Elle's typo called it - quite apt really.
It was a very successful meeting all round and then I was back to the church for our evening huddle.  We'd already decided we were having wraps for tea and they didn't disappoint, I fried my onions separately because Aryn doesn't like them, how can you not like fried onions!

It was a crazy 842 calories for that plate though, 2 wraps 364 calories, 326 calories for the steak then the rest on the veg and oil, it reminded me of why I don't buy wraps very often, they don't fill me up like potatoes or rice would.

Having said that, it's wraps again today because we have four left, I have some chicken kebab things that will go in them.  I have promised Aryn a trip to McDonalds to try the new Italian chicken burger, so I'll be trying the Italian beef stack, that's 648 calories and if I have fries, we're almost at 1,000 calories for lunch and I've just had breakfast which was delicious.  A bacon and mushroom sandwich on 2 slices of 400g loaf 50/50 bread, only 206 calories though.

I'm thinking the wraps might just be for Aryn or wait another day as that's a lot of bread based products for one day and I've noticed I get really hungry soon after eating them.

I've woke up in a good mood, actually I was woke up by himself calling to say good morning, it's rarely I'm not already awake when he calls in a morning but I'd turned over and gone back to sleep - nice.

I'm looking forward to our morning huddle, we'd love to see you.

Then I'm not sure what the rest of our day holds for us, but I know I'll enjoy it, hope you enjoy yours.

busy day ahead

Tuesday 14th June 2022
Enjoy where you are now.

Busy day ahead, 3 huddles, 1 dentist appointment, 1 school appointment (check me out being a 'mom'/grown up)!  Aryn and I watched an episode of 22 Children on Channel 5 catchup, wow, who in their right mind has 22 kids.  I already felt blessed because my life is so much calmer these days compared to the dementia days, even my work life is slower than it was back when I did 15 meetings a week, I was exhausted a lot of the time back then, now when I sit around, it's because I'm enjoying it not because I'm too tired to move.

I went over my allowance yesterday but at least I tracked it, I had a hungry day and looking at my tracker, I ate way too many carbs and not enough protein!  Today's a fresh day, so I plan to do better, just realised I won't have a lot of time to sort food so I need to be organised, I've fancied the tin of stewing steak that's in my cupboard for days now, I can fry a few onions separately for me because Aryn doesn't like them,. I have frozen peas, so need mash, it has to be mash, I might cheat and run in the Tesco garage to get a ready made pack.

One positive thing about my food yesterday was that I'd fancied sweet and sour chicken with the takeaway Sunday which would have cost me loads of calories so instead I had chicken nuggets yesterday out of my freezer and put a little sweet and sour sauce in a bowl, enjoyed it and saved loads of calories.

I've just realised I have a couple of things in the fridge that need using in the next couple of days so the tinned stewing steak may have to wait!  I'm thinking steak wraps with peppers and onions, maybe a bit of spinach too, there's also Yakitori Chicken Thigh Skewers which I bought because they were half price, they'd go nice in wraps too.  I have a whole packet of wraps that need using so two meals for the two of us over the next couple of days is perfect.  Ooo I do like food :)

Having said that, I can't decide what to have for my breakfast, so I may not have anything, but then I'm not gonna get back here till almost 3 so that's not very smart is it...  I've got an hour to decide.

Here's to a great day, looks like the suns going to shine.

Loving life and hopefully losing weight

Monday 13th June 2022
Get out of your own way.
I survived the weekend, but better still I really enjoyed it, I managed to eat the same as everyone else (most of the time) and when I didn't it was because I wasn't fussed about what they were having or I wasn't hungry.

We started our day with this plate of deliciousness,

Real butter on the toast, streaky bacon, egg and mushrooms, a plate of foods I love, all for 486 calories, the toast is from a 400g seeded loaf.

That meal kept me going until teatime, the boys had some Victoria sponge cake with cream, I'm not fussed by cake, I'd rather have wine so I didn't bother with that.  I'd asked if they wanted a Sunday roast and the reply was, 'no we'll have a takeaway save you cooking and washing up'.  My first thought was 'oh no, I'm trying to lose weight, this won't help', then I thought about it and realised we will have takeaways and it has to be part of life.

Aryn and I shared chow mein and egg fried rice, there was plenty left too, we had a pancake roll and a handful of chips, I've worked it out and it was 712 calories for my plateful and I ended my day on 1904 calories.

I'm aiming for 1/2lb a week, apparently it's 28 weeks to Christmas so I can lose a stone enjoying my journey, it's better than losing half stone then regaining half stone!

We enjoyed another lazy day yesterday, I really enjoyed my weekend, now to start thinking about what we're going to do next in the motorhome, watched some lovely journeys on youtube, so many possibilities for the summer and the future.

Today though, I've got a meeting chat to put together, a wardrobe of clothes to organise and a spare room to contemplate sorting.  What's on your to do list?

But first another cuppa...

Sober Saturday!

Sunday 12th June 2022
Celebrate every tiny victory.

We had a great huddle yesterday morning and Carol spent most of the time putting together the goody bags for the Women's Haven, we ended up with 156 bags, just amazing generosity from all our members.  They've already been delivered and they were chuffed to receive them.

Once I got home just before noon the rest of the day was lovely and lazy so not much else to share, other than I ended my day on track with 400 calories left.   We chilled out watching motorhome vlogs on YouTube and before we knew it, it was half nine and we went to bed.

I did feed us twice in-between, lunch was lamb kebab cobs 643 calories (a little high but they needed eating) and tea was fish, chips, peas and onion rings, worth every one of the 949 calories it cost me!

No wine meant I could have those higher calorie meals - check me out not drinking on a Saturday!

Great nights sleep, woke just before seven and hoping we're not going to do much today either!

Hope you have a great day too.

Mwah, luv ya

Those numbers add up rather quickly!

 Saturday 11th June 20221
Nothing changes if nothing changes.

Well I tracked it all this morning, it wasn't pretty but I tracked it and I enjoyed it too, I consumed 2726 calories yesterday - oops.  It's all good though, doing it realistically this time, 1/2lb a week is my goal, any more will be a bonus and unexpected.  I'll weigh today and return to my Saturday weigh ins, I will hopefully have lost a couple of pounds from that 5lb gain Tuesday which knocked my neck in, I always say it's jelly fat when it's gained that quick, so get it off before it sets!

I had a good day all round yesterday, my new washing machine arrived so I got to get my washing done at last.  Our motorhome passed it's MOT which was a huge relief because you just never know do you what's hiding underneath!  Oh and himself and Kev next door put our new gazebo up, apparently I was supposed to buy a pop up one and didn't, I don't remember that instruction, I just bought the bigger one from Argos because it was reduced and worked out cheaper than the smaller one :)

How did I manage to consume all those calories you may have been thinking, oh it's so easy to in this house, so it started with me fancying a tin of soup, my thought pattern was if I have that, then I wouldn't eat again till we had curry later.  Then Aryn got up and asked if we could cook chicken wings for lunch which we did, we used some of these seasonings which are all delicious, they were bought for me as a gift and I'v really enjoyed them, so much so I've ordered some off Amazon.

As you can imagine, they cost me a good few calories, 645 to be accurate as I ate 5, chicken wings really are my absolute favourite things when cooked right and boy these were, they were also full wings not those crappy small stumps!  We did have a corn on the cob with it too, another 84 calories.

Then himself wanted to go over the pub for a few pints at teatime because apparently draught Guinness in a pub tastes so much better than the stuff from a can in the garden!  I opted for Gin and slimline tonic which helped, only had singles but had 3 in total, so there's 168 calories gone.

When we got home we sat in the garden with our neighbours and I opened a bottle of wine - that's 570 calories a bottle, then the curry which I had a smaller portion but then had a bit of the chicken one too and a couple of poppadoms with onion salad, so now we're adding about another 750 calories.

Then because I'm being 100% honest, himself had bought back a pack of lamb and mint kebabs that were use by 9th and said, these need cooking today, I said it's the 10th, we both agreed they'd be fine so I cooked them as he said he'd eat them tomorrow, but I pinched 2 when they came out the oven because they were lush, and 316 calories added to the tracker.  That's how easy it is to consume lots of calories, of course the total included tea and coffee too, I'm glad I tracked it all because I thought it would be even higher.

Ignorance IS NOT BLISS!

I'll attempt to have a better day today, there's no chicken wings to tempt me, cheap meal though as the pack of wings only cost £1.78 in Sainsbury's for a 1kg pack.

I need to get a move on, off to the huddle this morning and we're putting together the treat bags for the women's refuge.

Here's to a great day,

Mwah, luv ya

I love food! Oh & red wine...

Friday 20th June 2022
Look for the good.

I survived another day, ended on 1817 calories, I've got my app set to 1/2lb loss a week so I get 2032 calories a day, that's telling them I'm inactive which I guess these days I am.  Being realistic with the half pound a week means I can enjoy higher calorie meals and enjoy eating meals like this pizza which Aryn and I ate yesterday.

It worked out at about 800 calories each but boy are these pizza delicious, I had them from Ocado when I had my vouchers, they're £4.50 for a box of two and you make them yourself, which is fun. They're also part of their £15 pizza meal deal, bargain.

This was my main meal and filled me up especially as I'd had some butternut squash chips earlier which are really filling.  I'd had them with the quiche I'd had my eye on all week and it wasn't all that, 267 calories for a 1/4 of it - I can find better things to spend that amount of calories on.

I also enjoyed a pack of Doritos and wine before bedtime, perfect end to a great day in the huddles.  I'm not usually a fan of tortilla chips but these were delicious, they'd been bought at the weekend by Niamh and a packet left, ooo now they're worth 149 calories.

Oh I do love food, don't you?

The rest of my day was pretty good too, great huddles with lots of success and giggles, I found some paperwork I'd lost which made me smile and the highlight of the day was, as I was leaving the house, I shouted up the stairs to Aryn, "I'm off now, I luv you!" and he replied, "I love you too.... sometimes', lol, any kind of response, even with a touch of sarcasm from a teenager is more than welcomed.

We've started filling in our journal sheets and I'm liking the addition of the 3 good things because it's making us both think about our day and look for the positives, it's important that everyone does that because there is always something good in any day.

I've got my new washing machine coming today, I'm also going to sort out the charity stuff ready for tomorrow when we're compiling the goodie packs.  Dinner is sorted, I've taken curry out of the freezer and will serve it with rice, naan and poppadoms, thankfully I'm not a naan fan so will save calories there.

I fancy soup for lunch, might have fruit for breakfast, aware from our tracker that I'm not having enough fruit and veggies nor hitting the 25g a day of fibre that is recommended!  Aryn has one of these bars every morning which helps him hit his as they have 11.3g of fibre and only 117 calories, gluten free too.
Feeling good and ready for my day, already drunk some water and had a mug of tea, the motorhome is going for its MOT this afternoon, keep your fingers crossed for us!

I nearly forgot!

Thursday 9th June 2022
What if it all goes right?

I nearly forgot to blog this morning, too busy doing other things and getting ready for work.

Back to yesterday, a quick chat on the phone with himself made me realise I can do this, he has more belief in my ability than I do when it comes to losing my weight and makes it sound so simple, 'so what if you've gained 5lb, you can lose 2lb this, week and a pound next week and do that every week', I was like, erm yeah I can, then he started to tell me how lol and stopped by saying, "why am I telling you how to lose weight Bev!" Well he did have a point but it was nice to be coached by someone other than myself  or Elle, someone that I would actually listen too, especially as he has a totally different approach to eating than I do, it was interesting.

Anyway I survived the day, consumed 1615 which means I actually had 417 left which helped to make up for the day before when I was 526 over!

Foodwise we ate two proper meals,
Salmon, rice, corn on cob and roasted pepper - 597 calories

This is a Bannisers half jacket with cheese on top (it wasn't good) and definitely not worth 193 calories, Aryn's wasn't as burnt on top as mine but he said he wasn't impressed and would rather have a normal microwave jacket  I had butternut squash chips with mine and I forgot how much I love them 54 calories, baked beans 175 calories but so much fibre at 12.1g for half can of Branston and a fried egg nom nom
Aryn and I have put together a food/daily tasks journal to make sure we both eat healthy, do our daily tasks like take tablets, clean teeth, drink plenty, eat our fruit and veg and I've added '3 good things' to it too as well as a few other things.  Hopefully it'll encourage him to remember to do things and keep me on track too!

I already have more energy than I did on Monday, every day I've felt a little better and I've caught up on my sleep too which is great.  Aware I need to drink more water as I've noticed the difference when I do and I seem to prefer it at room temperature, makes it easier to drink.

Today we're having pizza that you make yourself from a kit that was in the freezer, it'll probably be high in calories but Aryn will enjoy making them and I can have it as my main and cut back elsewhere.  I need to make this a liveable weight loss plan for me and calories does seem to be the easiest way for me to do it.

Feeling so much more positive than I was on Tuesday, I'm even planning meals in my head for the weekend, I'm thinking spaghetti bolognaise, I was going to do sweet and sour pork but he's eaten pork chops the last two nights whilst away so I thought he may have had enough of that.  I do have curry in the freezer so that could be our Friday night fakeaway, I can nip and get poppadoms and naan bread for the boys and I'll just have the poppadoms.

For now though, I need to get my backside out the door for our busy day ahead.

Mwah, luv ya

Love me xx

Ouch, I never expected that...

Wednesday 8th June 2022
If it was easy we'd all be thin!

This is the plan going forward!

Well yesterday on the scales was a wake up call!  I stood on them early to draw a line, wanted to get back on track and ouch 5lb on, I was shocked.  Don't get me wrong I was expecting a gain but not that much, it really knocked my neck in because it's not easy to get back off is it.

And so I start again, line drawn, a wonderful weekend had and an attempt to get a grip on myself.  I enjoyed my dinner, we had liver, mash, gravy veg it was so good and Aryn enjoyed the liver which is great because he needs the iron.  I had the leftover liver for tea on a cob, that's all the white bread gone from the weekend thankfully, that won't have helped with the scales results yesterday, especially with butter on it.

We've already agreed we're having salmon and rice today, I have hard boiled eggs in the fridge so will have those for breakfast.

So was yesterday easy?  Hell no!  I hadn't tracked my breakfast before I'd eaten it then when I worked it out, it had cost me 500 calories for an egg sandwich, small sliced bread but I had 3 slices because there was so much of the egg mixture.  It was delicious and kept me going till 1 when I started dinner, I forgot to add the cress which was supposed to be part of the sandwich.

This is me so far this year;

That needs to change, we had so much weight loss success in the huddles yesterday, it made me want some of that success.  Don't get me wrong we had gains too but those members are losing overall and had just enjoyed the bank holiday celebrations.

I need to find my motivation....

I know it would help massively with my pain, my sciatica is back, my knee hurts, my back and shoulders, yep I'm in pain and I don't want to be.  That really should be enough to motivate me shouldn't it?

I'm also tired, my energy levels are low and I would love to have lots more energy so I could get stuff done.  That really should be enough to motivate me shouldn't it?

Yesterday it wasn't, I managed to cope all day, got to the end and was left with 93 calories, then I decided to finish the peanuts in the open bag to get rid of them because they'd be tempting me all week otherwise so there's 185 calories for the 30g, oh and the glass of wine to wash them down - so yeah work in progress for sure.

At least I've tracked it all, it's making me aware of why I'm not losing weight and why I shouldn't have been surprised at a 5lb gain.  It's not about only tracking on days you stick to the plan, if you track all the time, you learn about your eating/drinking habits, then you can make changes.

Today, I will think before I eat rather than working out the calories after, that way I've got more chance of sticking to my daily allowance which is 2032 because I only want to lose 1/2lb a week - I need to be realistic.

Yeah, I know I'll have more enthusiasm for healthy eating after a few days of healthy eating because I'll start to feel better as a result.

I hope you're feeling more up for it than I was yesterday,

mwah, luv ya

Losing weight in a delicious world is the hardest thing.....

Tuesday 7th June 2022
Believe you can & take your time

I've just commented on a post on Facebook, "we can never stop trying xx we love life and getting back on track is the price we pay for how well we enjoy the good times 😉" and boy ain't that the truth.  I will weigh in this morning because if I wait till Saturday, I'm gonna keep eating1

I have food left from the weekend, we didn't have the afternoon tea and there's stuff left from the bbq so I need to be mindful of the calories in this stuff.  There's a delicious looking quiche which I'm going to enjoy but I will work out the calories and have it in the correct portion size.  I've made egg and cress sandwiches this morning, again because I'm not wasting good food and those eggs need eating.

Thankfully I sent most of the stuff with him yesterday when he went to work and it'll keep him going all week.  Lucky really as he's left his wallet behind, my sister found it as she did a load of washing for me, she found it on the way out of the machine - oops!

I'm hoping Aryn will work his way through most of the cake, I will have the odd slice though because again, we didn't have it for the Jubilee, I did have a scone at least.

Yesterday was a very lazy, picky day.  I got the jobs I absolutely needed to get done and left the rest, it took most of the day to get the garden cushions dry and that was with them being under the gazebo.

I'm really going to struggle to get back on track, I know I am, but at the same time, I'm so tired and in pain and I know eating better and losing some weight will help with both of these issues!   It turns out you can have too much of a good thing and that is what my body is telling me, I'm not getting any younger am I ;)

On that note, it's time to move this creaking body and get moving.  At least the suns shining this morning, shall we all have a great day?

Mwah, luv ya

A house full...

Monday 6th June 2022
3 months from now, you will thank yourself.

WOW, what a weekend!  I'm gonna need today to get over it for sure...

Friday we went to the Black Country Museum, definitely recommend going there if you haven't been or not been for a while.

We've had visitors all weekend, they arrived from Ireland Friday afternoon and they left this morning to go to Manchester for a concert.  We've had lots of fun, BBQ Saturday night, how lucky were we with the weather, it stopped raining as our guests arrived.  My wonderful neighbour did the cooking for us and we had a great evening, lots of chat and laughter all round, watching kids have fun - they have so much energy!

Elle gave me Saturday off so I managed a lie in, half seven, that's good for me, good job really because it was after one when the BBQ night ended!  Sunday we'd booked Drayton Manor Park, we knew the forecast was dreadful and we were guaranteed rain but the kids wanted to go so...  Again lucky with the weather, it stopped raining as we arrived, the park was so quiet we didn't queue to go on anything.  It rained a little but I didn't notice because the second ride we went on was Storm Force so we all came off absolutely soaked to the skin and me being a moron had worn jeans, I walked round wet all day, bliss is putting your joggers on when you get home after being soaked for a whole day lol.

I shall weigh in the morning and draw a line, we've had lots of food, wine and good times and it was great, so many memories made and that's what matters.

The only blip this weekend is my washing machine has broken :( grrr, now to find one to replace it, boringell, like I haven't got enough to do today, trying to clear up the chaos that's been left by 3 kids with so much energy and all the grown ups lol.

Quiche for lunch today because it didn't get used up the weekend, trying to decide whether to use the chicken I cooked Saturday in a curry sauce, decisions, decisions.

Right, let's start with the washing up!  Hope you have a great day and you've had a wonderful weekend

Ouch!

Thursday 2nd June 2022
You got this!

Oh ma'an I'm in pain, had a rubbish night, I've pulled a muscle (I think) in my right shoulder blade and damn it hurts like hell, I don't even know how I did it, I walked in the living room yesterday and it started hurting.  I had changed the bedding and put it in the washer, then the dryer but I felt okay, I'd even woke up thinking 'ooo my ribs feel better today' and on a positive they still do so that's a bonus.  Hopefully whatever I've done will ease off quickly.  Drugs are the order of the day, I've put ibuprofen gel on it, then took some paracetamol and I have cuprofen if they don't work, I have to be in pain cos I don't usually take them at all.

On a positive, all is good in my world, my man is back, we spent the afternoon cleaning out the van as we now have visitors coming Friday, his sister and family are coming over for a concert in Manchester on Monday so sister and 3 of the kids are coming early and staying with us so they can go shopping and maybe do Drayton Manor Sunday, we shall see.  Barbeque planned for Saturday, so yeah complete change to our original Bank Holiday plans, we'll still manage to do the Black Country Museum before they arrive though.

Elle and I are at our huddles as per norm today, we're gonna have the laptop there so we can watch some of the Jubilee stuff on tele.

My orders in for my afternoon tea goodness, I amended the order to feed 7 rather than 3, gutted that the Clotted Cream was out of stock as Aryn wanted to try it.

Let's get on with the day, hoping the painkillers kick in soon.

Have a great one yourself, enjoy the Bank Holiday if you're off work.

Perfect poached egg

Wednesday 1st June 2022
Do it for you, not for them.

First of the month, someone told me how long it was to Christmas yesterday - BEHAVE people!  I'm still trying to lose my last Christmas weight gain...

We had a good day in huddles yesterday, despite the crazy weather, thunder, lightening and a heavy hail storm as I left to go to the evening one, our members didn't let us down though, they still braved the weather.  One lady told us last night was her one year anniversary of joining our huddle and she was 87lb lighter because of it - that is quite something.  Elle asked her what the biggest difference was and her first response was more energy, I'm sure we'd all love more of that.

Elle sent me a tiktok link yesterday to show me how to make a poached egg, it's one of the things I don't bother doing because I'm not good at it, but it worked, here's my attempt, will definitely use that technique again.

Here's the link How to poach an egg!

I've got a very, busy day, a couple of appointments with Aryn after my huddle this morning, then I need to start cleaning and sorting the house as we may be having visitors at the weekend.  My spare room is full of goodies which we're putting together on Saturday for charity, so I need to get that all sorted out too.

Need to go check the freezer for food and decide what to have to eat tonight as his lordships back for the bank holiday weekend, he gets it off, Elle & I will still be working so don't miss your huddle this week.  If you're up to nice things on Thursday we're there from 8.15, same Saturday.

Elle and I have both decided we're enjoying the Jubilee weekend, eating the cake then starting again on Monday, making memories this weekend.

Now though, I'm off to do the washing up - boo.
