It's not just any food, it's M&S food!

Tuesday 23rd April 2019
Stop accepting the things you cannot change, instead work on changing some of the things you cannot accept.

Well that was Easter weekend, been and gone, and we're on week 17 of the year, wow, although some days feel so long, the year is flying by.

I went to M&S yesterday, isn't it sad that this was the highlight of my day, don't remember the last time I browsed around a food shop, they'd reduced my fav chicken to half price, had to be done, cooked it but mom wanted egg and chips!  Anyway they have a balanced for you range which is high protein and I scanned a few packs and they average around 9SP which for the size is good, they look tasty, I mean why would you not want an onion bhaji chicken curry!

They're all £4 a meal so not a bargain, but they also do a count on us range and having scanned a couple of them they started from 7SP, the started around the £3 mark.  For me on my own, it's a great way of trying something new without having to cook from scratch.

As Easter is an anagram of 'A RESET' how about we do just that today, maybe try something new whether than be a new type of activity or a new recipe / meal, hobby, what would help you with your weight loss.  It could be something as simple as a new bedtime, go half hour earlier, stop you being tempted by late night snacking!

I've bought enough food from M&S to last me the week, some of it is higher in Smart Points but I've worked it that if I eat zero the rest of the day, I can fit these meals in.  I checked the use by dates too so my meal plan will be subject to them, I've got the delicious pizza they do that I love the salami one and it's only 12SP, that is a meal I could eat every week, it's so good.

M&S Coquille St Jaques is another of my favs, I've just looked and that is 6SP per 100g, I think one might weigh 200g but I'll need to check.  I've also bought the chicken tikka masala which I've always liked that, I want to compare the low fat version to the full fat version so I've bought both.

With all this talk of food, Dave's taking the food bank stuff this week, this is what they're short of this week if you're passing a shop,

FOOD SHORTAGES

1L CARTONS OF FRUIT JUICE (the cartons that don't need to be kept in a fridge)
500G BAGS OF SUGAR
CORDIAL/SQUASH
PACKETS OF MASH
JARS OF PASTA SAUCE
TINNED FRUIT

thanks in advance x

Right I'm off to shower, then I'm thinking eggs for breakfast, save those points for my zero foods.  This sunshine weekend has truly made me miss walking and climbing hills, if you've got your freedom - use it and explore this glorious country we have.

Let's have a very, very, great day.

Another glorious day forecast

Monday 22nd April 2019
Easter is a second change.

Now I'm not religious but you could see it as a time for second chances, Easter is also an anagram for A RESET, which is what I'll be doing after enjoying Easter Sunday a little too much, but thankfully I've managed a sneaky half off, that'll be the good work I did earlier in the week.

I know there was a copious amount of chocolate eaten yesterday, none in my house though, we didn't have any thankfully, so I could've done more damage!

We enjoyed a good day, started with my glorious walk in the woods, where we enjoyed the bluebells and the start of the white flowers on the wild garlic.  We even got to see a baby badger, I couldn't believe it but we left it be as you shouldn't mess with nature and I'm sure the rest of the pack weren't far away, I've always wanted to see a badger so there's another bucket list tick.

I got home and walked Alfie, well we walked a little then I stood whilst he lay on the grass!  When I got back from that my sister had dropped this off for me;

Well after my long walk and not having eaten yet, this became my breakfast and wow it was delicious, she told me she cooked the beef on high in the slow cooker, it was from Morrisons and it was amazing and her Yorkshires are always incredible, kept me going most of the day that did.

Mom and I enjoyed some sunshine in the garden and the weather forecast on the radio has just said we could break records for Easter Monday with the temperatures today, as high as 25, so I can't see many people getting back on track until tomorrow!  That's okay though, the reset button can wait another day, every day you wake up with the opportunity to renew, refresh and reset, today or tomorrow looks like a perfect day for pressing that button.

And if you needed a little motivation to show you it's more than doable, check out Dave's article on Birmingham Live Slimmer loses incredible 7.5 stone

He's an inspiration he really is, I can't tell you how proud I am of him and every one of my members who are doing what they can to live a healthier lifestyle.

Here's to a very, very great day.

Happy Easter

Sunday 21st April 2019
Easter - the only time it's okay to put all your eggs in one basket.

Every time we try to eat healthy along comes Christmas, Easter, summer, Friday or Tuesday and ruins it for us :) I did survive yesterday almost, apart from some of moms Maltesers.  I impressed myself, I resisted going and spending lots of money in M&S, then behaved in the Co-op, reminding myself I have enough food to last me till Monday in the freezer.  There was so many things I would've bought.

After my scrambled egg sarnie for breakfast, which is my new favourite thing, I made this for my dinner;

I didn't like it at all, so I only ate the beans, then went back and made this instead which was delicious.

It's 4Sp for this pot of Katsu Curry sauce and I liked it so much I've already put a couple of pots in my online shopping basket.

Later on as I knew I was going to be tempted by moms crisps, I decided they could be my tea and had a crisp sarnie, was good.

But the I got attacked by about 100g of Maltesers wasting 25SP and they were wasted because the chocolate was warm so not so nice but I kept going! DOH.  So now I'm -19 on my weeklies, which means I need to do a lot of steps today.

It's all good, I've improved on last week, more aware of my eating, everything tracked on my app and thinking about what I'm eating.  Winner, winner roast beef dinner today courtesy of my sister who is just epic can I say.  It's the little things that make people amazing and I found a can of febreze on my landing windowsill she'd left there after a conversation we'd had, made me realise not only does she listen but she cares.  Yeah it's the little things xx

Anyway, my day was uneventful yesterday so nothing to tell, workshop which is always great, dog walks, difficult few hours with mom, couldn't get her in the garden and she was cold - REALLY!  Yep, we had the heating on yesterday and the curtains drawn so she could listen to her tv on 100 volume, lol, I've gotta laugh or I'd run away.

That's why I'm looking forward to getting in my car in ten minutes and driving to meet my bro for a walk.  Catch ya laters, happy Easter.

Happy Easter Weekend

Saturday 20th April
Stick with people who pull the magic out of you not the madness

Yesterday was pure relaxation, my massage was so good I couldn't remember my PIN number to pay my bill when I came out, 2 attempts and I didn't want to risk the third and have it locked.  Let's hope I've remembered it again now!

We spent a few hours in the garden before mom got bored, she's very changeable these days, you can ask her if she wants something and she'll say no then ask her again a few minutes later and it's a yes.

I had the most delicious dinner, salmon in teriyaki sauce, I marinated the veggies as well as the salmon in the sauce and it was really tasty.  Good salmon too, on the bone, my sister gave it me, nom nom.

Now to survive the weekend, this is the tough bit, but I can do it because I want to lose some weight, I need to keep reminding myself of my WHY and keep the wine in moderation!

I need to get mom an Easter egg as she asked yesterday if I'd bought her one, but if you fancy something sweet without the excessive points, how about this knickerbocker glory

serves 4 - 5SP per serving
1 x 26g sachet sugar-free jelly crystals
180g fat-free Greek-style yoghurt
1⁄2 tsp sugar-free vanilla syrup
200g mixed berries, any larger fruit (like strawberries) halved or quartered, plus extra sliced strawberries to garnish
4 scoops of light vanilla ice cream (16SP)
reduced-fat squirty cream, to serve (1SP per serving)

Make up the jelly according to the packet instructions and leave it to set.
When the jelly is set, mix the yoghurt with the vanilla syrup and set aside.
Divide the jelly into eight equal portions.
Put a layer of jelly in the bottom of four glasses, followed by a thin layer of yoghurt.
Divide half of the fruit among the four glasses, then add a scoop of ice cream.
Repeat the layers as follows: jelly, yoghurt, then fruit.
Finally, top each serving with 3 tablespoons of reduced-fat squirty cream and a slice of strawberry.

Well that's me, still that relaxed from yesterday, it'll take a while for my brain to kick into gear.  Looking forward to my workshop this morning though,

Yesterday reminded me how great my life is

Friday 19th April 2019
Life is better when you cry a little, laugh a lot and are thankful you've got.

Woo Hoo, I had a lie in, half seven, go me, I wasn't woken by your typical alarm, I was woke up by the Hilary alarm, which is mom walking into my bedroom saying, are you up Bev, gotta love her.

Yesterday was one of those days that reminds me how blessed I am and how much I love my world.  Yes I woke up shattered but I still had a great day, it started with me spending 15 minutes with mom doing a crossword sitting on her bed, it was a beautiful moment, every time we got an answer right, she leaned in and knocked her shoulder on mine (really sweet), then she started talking about the photos around her room of the two of us and say, "we are a lot alike, you're just a bit younger than me" so I said let's take a few more to add to the collection and we did, just a short moment but precious and a reminder of the love between us that can be tested so often these days.

Then we got silly in the workshop, the first one is always where people get weighed and get off to work so we have time to chat, I found a huge teddy bear on the bric-a-brac store in the next room, so I decided to take him for mom, he sat in the workshop all morning, weighed 10lb so doesn't want to lose weight, he started off sitting alone,
but he soon made some friends,

He travelled well, wore his belt too,

Now he's got himself pride of place in the living room and mom will have many a conversation with him,
He's the best fiver I've spent this week!

Food wise, I went over my dailies because of the wine I enjoyed when I finally got home, it was worth it, plus I still have 8 weeklies left which is brilliant compared to last weeks effort.

The tagine I'd waited a week for wasn't worth it, there's not one cooks a tagine better than my dear friend Chantel, oh honestly, now that girl could cook, my food day looked like this;

Now this lentil curry for 2SP from my workshops was worth it, unlike that tagine above which also cost a bloody ridiculous £6.99, Chris Bigham are supposed to be really special, but I wouldn't buy it again.

Lentil Curry 2SP

and then I ended the day with my WW popcorn, 2SP, I warmed it up in the microwave and settled down to watch Grey's Anatomy.

Yep Thursday was a very, very, great day.

Let's have a very GOOD FRIDAY (geddit 😛 )

Thursday, 18 April 2019

Where's the coffee?

Thursday 18th April 2019
Keep taking time for yourself until you're you again.

Another day done, but I've not had a great night thanks to the roads works big metal plate across the road and a thoughtless taxi driver who decided he'd remove the barriers and open up the road.  We put it back once but he just removed it again ten minutes later then next time he wanted to get down Griffiths drive.  I felt like I heard every car that drove over it, I really feel for those that live closer. Add to that the fact that Alfie's decided to sleep in my room the last couple of nights and been unsettled, then moms spent most of the night looking for him and talking to herself. SUCH FUN!

But on a positive, I had another on track day, breakfast cost me 4SP

Lunch set me back 11SP, I wasn't throwing away the mozzarella salad I'd bought, but I doubt I'll buy that one again, I've had better mozzarella.

then my tea was yesterdays stir fry leftovers for 3SP, didn't taste as good reheated so won't cook so much the next time.

Alfie wasn't in the walking mood at all yesterday, we went for two stands and lie downs rather than walks, he lay on the grass the second time for half hour, so I called a mate and had a chat.  She'd sent me some awesome pens to make me smile through the post, I have to say they made me proper belly laugh, really lifted my day.

And here we are at Thursday again, the weeks just fly by for sure, I'm prepared food wise for my day, I've already cooked the sausages, did them when I did my breakfast yesterday so if I don't have time to cook stuff, I can grab them, I was going to say and make a sarnie but I'm unsure as to the bread status in this house, if I do have a couple of slices left, they'll have to be toasted cos I've had that brown bread since last Wednesday!

I've got my tagine definitely today because of the use by date, then I want a low point meal to balance that out, so I'm thinking eggs possibly, or I'll try either the new WW chilli pot or lentil curry pot as they're both only 2SP, there's also a delicious looking salmon and egg slice recipe in the new Eggs book for zero points. Actually whatever I have, I can add butternut squash chips because I have them prepared and ready to cook in the fridge.  Sorted, I can survive a busy Thursday and Day 4 of being fully on track and feeling able to keep to this.

My workshops lifted me again last night, love the giggles we have as we all support each other on our journey's.

Oh I almost forgot, mom and I watched My Girl yesterday, forgot what a lovely movie that is, it's on TV on Easter Sunday too if you're looking for a good family film to watch, My Girl2 is on straight afterwards, that's good too.

Right let's get this day started, it's only half five now, woke too early, if external things weren't waking me up, my crazy dreams were!  Dolphins in the canal and being bitten by some creature, can't remember what it was now but I do remember it's Alsatian friend coming to help him out, yep crazy dreams and there's nothing more boring than someone telling you about their dreams!

Here's to a very, very great day, stay focused and on track, it gets easier and you'll be glad you did once you start feeling and seeing the benefits.

Stay BeYOUtiful!

Day 3 - am I thin yet?

Wednesday 17th April 2019
You're more than a body and you're worth more than your appearance.

Day 2 in the bag, they feel longer without wine :) only joking but we did have an early night, that helps me resisting junk food temptations, although I have to say, yesterday I wasn't tempted, that switch in my head is staying switched, I'm having to remind myself of my WHY's but when I do that, it encourages me to stay focused and keep on track.

I made me a healthy cooked breakfast before work, honey chicken breast sausages, egg, tomatoes, mushrooms and toast, bargain for 5SP and I sat and gave it all my concentration instead of multitasking whilst eating.

My morning workshop gave me inspiration to make a chicken stir fry for lunch, it was delicious and I'll definitely be repeating, there's unlimited options for flavours, WW do a range of dressings and marinades, my fav is the Teriyaki which is 2SP in the entire packet, but I also love the garden mint marinade by Flava-it which is 6SP, if you can suggest any worth trying, let me know.

From the workshops yesterday, I also need to add chicken kebab and cottage pie to my 'To Eat' list, don't you love that nothing is off limits with WW.

My dinner was leftover liver, mash and veg, although Alfie relieved me of most of the liver and carrots! My dinner tonight is sorted, I've got the other half of that stir fry.  Lunch depends on the use by dates of what's in the fridge and breakfast has to be a repeat of yesterdays because it was so good or maybe not, we shall see.

I had my manager and his colleague in my workshop last night, afterwards we had a chat about how I'm getting along and I always come away realising, that learning is a continual thing, that just because we've been taught things doesn't mean we don't forget to do them or need a refresher.  The same goes for our healthy habits doesn't it, we continually need to reassess and revise.

What aspects of your journey do you need to reassess, review and revise.  What do you want to be working on right now.

Some suggestions;

Lunchtime walk or walk whenever you can
Carry a water bottle
Focus on eating your 5 a day - aim to eat different colours
Get enough sleep
Focus on and become aware of emotional eating habits
Find a way to be active
Track all your foods/drink
Plan meals
Aim for 10,000 steps a day
Plan in your treats
Cook more meals from scratch
Check your portion sizes
Cut down on the caffeine
Meditate

There's a few to get you started, what could you start doing right now to help you achieve your goals?  Mines self talk, I need to keep reminding myself why I'm doing this, reminding myself that it is worth it and when I've lost some weight, I'll appreciate it and so will my knees!

It's amazing how far that daily allowance goes when I don't open a bottle of wine and I actually think about what I'm spending it on...

Here's to another very, very great day.

Here's to day 2 of tracking

Tuesday 16th April 2019
It is our choices who show us far more what we truly are, far more than our abilities.

I finally got myself on track yesterday, day 1 in the bag, I spent the morning cleaning out the fridge ready for my supermarket shop delivery, the only thing that got delivered that I'd forgotten was still in the basket from another day was the tomato and mozzarella which works out at 11SP, but I wasn't going to let it go to waste so I had it as a treat for my tea, I ended the day on 28 plus I earned 9 FitPoints so all was good.

I really enjoyed the eggy bread I had for my breakfast, I bought this bread as a treat on Friday, don't normally have white but it's good points wise, 2 slices for 3SP in the 400g loaf.

Then I had liver and onions for my dinner, with carrots, butternut squash, mash and onion gravy.  Alfie enjoyed half my liver!

I've even got veggies prepped, I cooked extra mash, carrots and butternut squash, plus I've got the rest of the uncooked squash cut into chips ready for cooking.  I'm hoping being prepared will help me survive this first week.

I have to admit, I found the temptation of going and pouring a glass of wine tough, especially when mom or Alfie was playing up.  I resisted though because I know it's just a habit and habits can be changed, I've done it before, I can do it again.  I had a couple of glasses of cloudy lemonade (diet of course) instead.

If only I could stop my mom eating so much crap but that ain't gonna happen so I need to resist her offerings.  I've got to say seeing the effect eating all this junk is having on her is helping me resist.

Here's a recipe I've just seen that I thought some of you might like;

Zero point falafels
Really easy. Just rinse & mash up a large tin of chickpeas (or two). Add a diced onion, 2 crushed cloves of garlic, a diced chilli, teaspoon of cumin & coriander, salt & pepper. Mix together, chill for an hour then make little patties & place on a baking tray with a little Spry light. Cook for about 20 mins & leave to coo

Alfie just come to greet me, 9 years yesterday since we collected him, we still play on the landing in the morning, lying on the floor, so that's what I'm off to do.
Here's to a very, great day

Monslay

Monday 15th April 2019
Life is a beautiful struggle, embrace it.

Are you starting your Monday thinking - too cold, too early, too Monday!

Or are you thinking

New Monday, New Week, New Goals!

Monday's are for fresh starts, when life gives you a Monday, dip it in glitter and sparkle all day, that's my plan anyway, I'm sure writing it down is going to help me believe it, maybe another cup of caffeine might help too but hey, you've got to believe to achieve haven't you.

I won't lie I was dreading standing on my scales this morning, my diet hasn't been great this past week, veggies have been almost extinct, planning none existent and tracking, well I've just tracked 3 of the things I've had to get my wellness wins.

Yesterday at least included a delicious Lamb dinner thanks to my sister and a wonderful walk on the Wrekin to earn some FitPoints which I added to by walking Alfie a couple of times when I got back home.

Anyway, somehow I managed another maintain on the scales but I know I need to improve my eating, which is why I have a shop being delivered today that's full of veggies!  I did have pineapple yesterday, it was delicious too, it was a fridge pack, although I ate the whole packet so it didn't need to go into the fridge at all.  Carol picked it up for me so not sure where from, but just googled and Tesco and Waitrose sell it

This beauty occupied a couple of hours yesterday, I managed a couple of rounds which took a whole lot of concentration, I had to put an entire side bag for one wrong stitch I did at the beginning, when I first started crocheting that would have infuriated me, now I just smile and start pulling it back to the stitch I need to rectify.  I'm seeing this project as a massive training session, I'm learning and enjoying every stitch, I'm really having to think but it's all worth it.  I'll hopefully get to have a couple of hours doing it again today, after I've done my work and housework (boo to being a grown up)

I'm ready for today, going to make liver and onions with mash and veggies, really looking forward to that.  I'm thinking eggs and tomatoes on toast for breakfast, maybe with a slice of bacon, actually I might add chicken sausages and have a full breakfast, then have my liver later on and just have the two meals today because we'll probably have an early night.  Yeah that's a plan!

I've got a couple of WW ready meals coming in my delivery too, I'm going to do my best this week to have a good week, to track everything, to not let my mom and her behaviour send me looking for solutions in the kitchen.  I plan to eat lots of veggies and enjoy delicious meals and get back to being a healthy version of me.  I'm sure my popping left knee would thank me if I took some pressure off it by losing a few pounds, thankfully I'm still in the stone bracket I want to be in but I'd much rather be at the other end.  Oh if only there was a magic wand, but I'll have to settle for a pen and use it to write  what I'm having, well actually it'll be my finger and I'll type it into my app, this week that app is being used religiously.

Now I'm going to write my notes for my workshops this week and as it's Easter this weekend, we'll be looking at surviving that and other things of course, that will get me even more motivated and convinced I can do this.  I will do this because I've seen what happens when I or others give up and it's never happily and I want to be happy, don't you?

Happy Monday, let's make it a very, very great day,

Stay BeYOUtiful

Time really does fly...

Sunday 14th April 2019
A hug said Pooh is always the right size

Well I'm up and ready for my walk, we're off to Kinver Edge this morning to lose ourselves for a couple of hours, I can't wait.  I was just having a look over my memories on Facebook and this time last year, my brother had just finished doing my garden and making it glorious.  The year before we were having a coffee morning for charity and 11 years ago I went walking with Ian up Brown Clee Hill, I remember it like it was yesterday from the photos, https://www.facebook.com/bevww/media_set?set=a.17543590861&type=3 My memory isn't the best but it's 100% better when I see a photo, I can transport myself right back to that moment, I just cannot believe this was 11 years ago, I do remember it being a very, very muddy walk.  Let's hope today's walk is as enjoyable.

I have to confess to my diet going completely out of the window, I may have been staying around the same weight for weeks but this week I've stopped even pointing my food.  I can feel it in myself too, My body is protesting, it's screaming out for veggies!  Yesterday me and my helpers all agreed it's time to take back control, with this being Easter week ahead, there are things that will stop us being perfect but we sure can all improve, we're going to be more mindful and acknowledge when we're just grabbing.

I've got a lamb dinner to look forward to today, my sisters on the case, that'll be my 'Easter' dinner, a week early I know but I know after today, I'll be all lambed out.

I after say after a few things I saw on the tv yesterday, I'm in danger of turning veggie again, I'm hoping those images remove themselves from my memory quickly.   I watched goggle box too and was disturbed with the bit about Netflix, David Attenborough and the Walrus's, is this planet too late for saving!  If you haven't seen it don't watch if you're of a sensitive nature, I can't get that image out of my head :(

I told you about those kittens yesterday, then my helper Liz turns up and tells me she's ended up with another cat thats not her cat and she's just given birth to four kittens.  Yep it's kitten season, when thousands of unwanted ones get born from cats that have lost their cuteness to whoever bought it in the first place.  If you ever see someone having a new kitten, ask them if it's been done and suggest that's the first thing they get sorted, some places will even do it for free I believe.

Anyway, I can't be thinking about saving the planet on a Sunday morning, I've got more than enough on my plate caring for mom and helping the food bank which I say we are doing very well, I have another pile of food to take to them when I get a minute or I'll ask Dave - he's amazing.  He's going to be on Birmingham Live about it too which is awesome, a bit of publicity for both the food bank and WW.

Anyway, I need to get myself into gear and I do solemnly swear that after today (because I know if I say I will today, I'll be lying) I am going to get back on track, I need to get my fridge full of veggies, this not shopping lark isn't helping at all.  Yes I'm working my way through the stuff I have slowly but it's not helping me with my health at all.  I'll use today to plan some meals and either nip to the shop or do an online shop (online more likely with mom).  Tomorrow I'll have liver and onions with mash and veg, I have the ingredients for that, I also have my Penn Road Chicken sausages at the ready.  Yeah here's to getting a grip again, I can draw as many lines as I need to.  Today won't be ridiculously bad, I won't spend today having a 'I'm going on a diet tomorrow' party, I'll just enjoy my dinner and that'll probably fill me up for the day.

What are your plans?  Remember we don't have the option of giving up, that means we've given up on ourselves and that must never happen!

Have a very, very great day xx

It's a good life really x

Saturday 13th April 2019
Everyday is a new beginning, take a deep breath, smile and start again.

Yesterday was mostly a very, great day, mom started off talkative which is a good sign, she told me about when she went to church school -yes I've heard it before and actually I heard it 3 or 4 times in the space of an hour yesterday morning, but it's just good to hear her happy and distracted.  Oh and her reciting the Greek alphabet to me - yeah she can still do that, although she couldn't remember the last couple of letters, so I printed them out for her, which meant I got to listen to her reciting the Greek Alphabet continually ;) but that's still better than her saying nasty stuff lol.

Then I went and had my massage which was lovely, me and Charlotte shed a few tears together talking about my mom and her grandad, he was 95 and she will miss him but turned out he'd been feeding a stray cat and whilst her mom was clearing out things from his house, this cat appeared and started giving birth!  I'd say that was her grandad's last joke on them, but here it is now with it's 3 kittens, and thankfully because there are so many good people out there doing good things, they have been rescued by https://www.facebook.com/tracycatskitty/
Now I know I'm always asking you for money but spare a pound, Charlotte's mom were dealing with enough having lost their dad/grandad without having to work out what to do with these little balls of fluff, but thanks to Facebook the problem was taken away from them.   Here's an easy way to donate, or give me the quid and I'll do one transfer.

After my incredible massage, I will confess to going home via the chippy, I'm trying to encourage mom to eat some good food and she was tempted by roe and chips, I stupidly said large chips thinking we'd share the one bag, oh my days, that was so too many, I weighed them,

They work out to roughly 70 Smart Points of chips and there was plenty in there for easily 4 or 6 people especially if you were having something else with them.

And I know I'm watching my weight but I hate waste so I googled leftover chips and found this recipe that actually sounds good, I know it's not low in points but if you've got kids or someone who isn't trying to lose weight, it'd certainly fill them up.  Not everything we eat has to be low in SmartPoints, at least the eggs are zero, the cheese can be half fat or protein cheese, the bacon medallions, it can be made healthier.

Leftover chip pie.
A great way to use left over chips from a fish and chip dinner.

Ingredients
Leftover chips
4 egg beaten
1 cup cheese grated
1/2 cup bacon rashers diced
1/2 cup onion diced
2 tsp chives chopped

Method
Place cold chips in a pie dish. Lightly fry the bacon bits and onion until cooked.
Add to beaten egg with cheese and chopped chives. Pour mixture over chips in pie dish and sprinkle with extra grated cheese.
Bake at 180C for about 25 minutes, or until golden brown.

NOTES
When I first made this it was just chips, eggs and cheese. Adding other ingredients such as left over vegetables from dinner also makes it tasty, very nice cold at a picnic on a hot day.

I then enjoyed the movie Christopher Robin, I simply adore Winnie the pooh and they made this movie so Poohish it was awesome, if you haven't read the Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff, I recommend it, I read it before having ever read any Winnie the Pooh books, now I see a depth to them that I would've missed as a child.  Pooh is who I aspire to be like, he really is, he has a great attitude to living.

Doing nothing often leads to the very best something!

So I spent my rest of the day after the dog walks, watching tv with mom, she enjoyed that song show on BBC1 where they sing to 100, the finals tonight and whilst doing that I was continuing this, I'm absolutely loving this project, it's going to be a very large blanket when finished that will lie on my bed and look pretty as it's never cold enough in this house for a blanket!

And now it's Saturday and I get to go and catch up with my lovely members, then a weekend of crochet, tv and walking, not a bad life really is it.

What I also did yesterday was have a conversation with a very, special lady that reminded me that often when life is throwing all its crap our way and we're struggling with something, we tend to start to go off track with our eating and get close to giving up but that's when we need to start focused more because we need to be taking care of ourselves.  When life's easy, weight loss is easy, when life's hard, well you know the rest.  But blaming our diet is a way of distracting ourselves from the real issues at hand doesn't it.  Well today is a new day so let's forget yesterday and focus on what's ahead, hopefully a very, very great day.

As someone once said to me, as long as you wake up above ground, it's a good day!

Mwah,

Stay BeYOUtiful!
