Another month, another chapter

Sunday 1st August 2021
Friends become our chosen family.

The first Sunday in August is always International Friendship day, and I am so blessed to have my fair share of friends, I stood in a room full at our huddle yesterday and as always it was a great couple of hours. The weight loss success is amazing, but for me it's seeing people connecting and realising how amazing they are and that their weight doesn't define them.  I've been blessed to meet new people since starting Be Happy Owls Huddles with Elle as we've attracted members neither of us have met before and I always love to get to know people and their stories, with their being two of us, we have more time to spend with people too.

Raining again this morning, where's summer gone!  It meant I enjoyed a chicken dinner yesterday though as it was cool enough to appreciate it.  I'm fancying an omelette this morning, not sure about the rest of the day, got my lettuce though so that's a bonus, I've a little bit of chicken left which I could make a sarnie or wrap from if Alfie don't steal it!  Meat Free Monday tomorrow so need to decide what to have, I've bought a packet of tofu, I'm thinking of trying something with, or I have black beans to make burgers.  I love that so many of our members are also going to give it a go, egg and chips is one of the best options for me, or jacket potato and baked beans is full on vegan!

Now I said I was going to start getting active in August, although the weathers not encouraging me to do anything!  I did however have an email yesterday, https://ourparks.org.uk/couch-to-fitness#player
| Our Parks It's offering a 9 week couch to fitness programme, so I'm going to try it, 30 minutes a day, I shouldn't be making excuses anymore, I have all the time in the world really, I just need to find the inclination.  I'll do the first one when I've finished blogging, hopefully it won't be dull as dishwater, if it is I'll look for something else.  The truth is I'm not a fan of exercise anymore but I know it's good for us and I've noticed that I'm losing muscle tone that I've always had, so I need to do something! I also need to build up and not go at it like a bull at a gate like I'm renowned for, I don't want my aches and pains to be worse than they already are!

First of the month ay, 146 days to Christmas, that's just over 20 weeks!  This year is flying by, 2020 was the worst year of my life, this year didn't start any better but now life is good again, we just need some dry days.  I finally feel ready to throw Alfie in the car and go for a drive out, need walks that are pushchair friendly so I can take his doggy one in case he gets tired, at least I can still enjoy walking then.

Today looks like a stay at home day though with this weather, zoom huddle at 9, followed by a dog walk, hopefully it'll stop raining long enough, might dig my crochet out today.  I think I've got doing nothing down to a fine art, need to start doing something again :)

Whatever you're up to, enjoy your Sunday.

Mwah, luv ya

Love me xx
