From meat free Monday to chicken Tuesday!

Tuesday 3rd August 2021
Just because you struggle, doesn't mean you'll fail.

Meat Free Monday was a success and it was lovely to see so many of our Owls do it too, I opted for melon with a piece of jam on toast for breakfast, for my dinner I had baked tofu, thanks to this website for instructions How To Make Baked Tofu | Gimme Some Oven then I had Katsu curry sauce over it, I love the sweet,  mild taste of this sauce and it's on offer in Sainsbury's for 50p so even if you don't know if you like it, you can give it a go.
I used organic, extra firm tofu and drained it well to help it to get crispy in the oven.
I ate all the tofu!  The 300g portion should've fed 2 but it was too good to leave on the baking tray and there was only me here :) I really enjoyed it though, I also forgot how easy it is to microwave and drain frozen spinach, I'm make sure I start doing that more because it's really good for you.

I turned into a carb monster later in the day, found the appetite of a family of 4 hyenas!  I cooked  some chips and veggie fingers and made a sandwich out of them, then I ate a bag of frazzles and decided I needed to go to bed to stop me continuing with the family feast!  Thankfully I'd deleted the emails offering me 50% off Ubereats as soon as it arrived or who knows what would've happened especially as McDonalds were sending me messages through my tv!

Today's all about chicken, sorry I can't do veggie all the time, especially when the chickens are half price in Sainsbury's!  I'll roast it and I might have a dinner with mash, sprouts, carrots and Yorkshire pud, yeah I will, I fancy that and I have packet mash, if I do extra veggies I can have bubble and squeak tomorrow with a fish cake, see I did do a little meal planning, well I wrote list of possible meals from the freezer, but some of them will have to wait whilst the chickens are on offer, one of those feeds Alfie and I for a few meals and they're only £1.75 each!

I did the 4 minute arm (2) Home Workout 4 Minute Toned Arms Workout - Best Arm Exercises for Women START NOW & Tone Up - YouTube workout, I can handle 4 minutes and I like that she says once you've watched her do it once, you can mute her and listen to your own music!  I can actually feel it this morning too, I can also feel that 30 minute one I did Sunday| Our Parks I shall do the second one of the week tomorrow with that, then I can do the 3rd one either Friday or Sunday.  I will look at the 7 minute ones at some point too, building up slowly, don't want to hurt my knee any more than it already is.

Alfie and I had a drive over Cannock Chase and a half hour walk, bless him, he walked me at his own pace, he went one way and came back then another way and came back then walked me back to the car lol, I did have his pushchair but I could tell he wasn't up for that either.  At least I'm getting him used to being in the car, he's slept a lot this last few days, it'll be interesting to see how he is this morning when we get to the huddle, he's usually excited to see everyone, if he isn't then I'm right in thinking he's not 100%.

Speaking of huddles, looking forward to another week of catching up with everyone, please help us spread the word by sharing our posts on Facebook and telling people where we are when you bump into them.

Let's have a great day, mmm breakfast, I might have chocolate spread (thanks Jim Jams for the samples) on toast after being weighed, I'm not hopeful this morning, but there's always next week.

Mwah, luv ya

Love me xx
