Love a lie in on a Friday

Friday 13th August 2021
Stop waiting for tomorrow.

Another day where my appetite was let's just say 'healthy', I did wonder is it because I started a journal!  Then chatting with Elle and our members last night, I realised I bought cobs on Sunday and I've been eating white bread which made me question if maybe that triggered my carb cravings!  Or is it just that I'm a greedy bitch at times, hormonal occasionally, have a massive love of all things food and excellent taste or because my body caught on to what I'm trying to do - i.e. lose a few pounds!

Whatever the reason, I'm not worried about it because I love me and what I weigh will never make a difference to those feelings, my weight doesn't define me and it shouldn't you.  That being said, because I love me, I do want to take care of the only body I'm ever going to have, therefore today, we'll have another go at creating a calorie deficit.

I have decided slow is the way forward for me and this is what we want all our members to do, create their own plan.    I've just been on my Nutracheck account and changed my weight loss speed from 1lb a week to 1/2lb a week, I'm in no rush, I'd like my clothes to fit me again but I can manage in the trousers I've got for now, hell if need be I'll buy a couple more pairs.

Nutracheck is telling me at rest my body needs 1610 calories so as long as I burn more than that each day, I'll be creating a calorie deficit, because that's the amount I'll use up sitting on my ass watching tele, which I do more than.  I've told it I'm sedentary (aka don't move much) so it's giving me a daily allowance of 2004 calories which sounds like a party!  I know I'm more likely to be able to come in around those numbers, some days lower which will boost the journey and knowing I'm going to be thereabout will encourage me to honestly track rather than think, 'what's the point, I've blown the numbers today!'

Now if we look at the results of my fitbit for the last week, the calories that's telling me I've burned are;

Friday 2,040
Saturday 2.020
Sunday 1,844
Monday 2,417
Tuesday 2,502
Wednesday 2,221
Thursday 2,404
= 15,448 over the week, Nutracheck allowance for week = 14,028 which would give a deficit of 1402

Looking at those numbers, I've burned more than the Nutracheck allowance all but one day.  You need a deficit of 3,500 to lose a pound, it could take me 3 weeks to lose 1/2lb but you know what as long as it goes down, I don't mind, I'm in no rush as I've already said and it's better than losing/gaining/losing/gaining.   I will aim to eat less than I burn going forward, so if I have a lazy Sunday, I will consume a little less!

No shopping done this week, I've started going through the freezer, no cooking meals for 4 for the rest of the month which doesn't help, when I cook a whole chicken and boil a pan full of spuds, they get eaten.  I need to learn to cook for one!

Today I'm thinking either Shepherds Pie or Toad in the Hole, I have freezer ones, can have them with frozen veggies.  I'm gonna have yogurt for breakfast to use it up, I actually enjoyed it the other day and I ate an apple last night, they've been in the kitchen since Terry was here, I don't buy apples usually, but I really enjoyed it, weighed it and it was 53 calories, so I'll eat the other one this morning.

The forecast ain't bad today, I think I'm going to weed the garden, burn a few calories and make it look less of a jungle!  I've got weeds/grass coming through the gaps in the slabs, it's not a good look at all.  Hopefully Alfie will fancy a good walk too which will burn more, if he doesn't I might throw him in the pushchair and walk anyway, we'll see how long the garden takes.

Whatever you have planned, take a little time to appreciate you're BeYOUtiful and think about how you want to lose weight.

Mwah, luv ya

Love me x
