How much is too much!

3rd March 2014
It’s not about the quantity, it’s about the quality!

Where did that weekend go!  I can’t believe its Monday already, the weekend really has flown by was fun though.  Yesterday’s walk was great even though I was soaked through when I got back to the car, a good 5 miler we did, then I went out for tea with my mates, we’d gone to the Broadway (Fayre & Square pub) and we decided after sitting there for 45 minute that we didn’t fancy anything on the menu so we left and went to the Indian up the road, before leaving I took a photo of someone else’s ‘large Sunday dinner’ because I couldn’t believe the size of it!  3 Yorkshire puddings!

I’ve just looked online and the menu and it says;

“Traditional Roast Dinner £6.49 Deal price £5.00.  Why Not? Go Large for just £2 extra.

With a selection of seasonal vegetables, roast and mashed potatoes, a stuffing ball, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Please ask which meats are available.
Why Not? Go Large for just £2 extra with 2 Boroughbridge pigs in blankets, homemade stuffing, 3 Yorkshire puddings, extra roast and mashed potatoes and lashings of gravy.

Now a Beefeater Sunday Roast Beef is 22pp, Chef & Brewer Sunday Roast Beef 23pp, large 31pp, in a Crown or Toby Carvery you build your own, so the beef they serve is 11-12pp, then mash is 3pp per 100g, veggies are between 1-3pp per 100g, yorkshire’s about 2pp each, stuffing 2pp per 100g.

If you look at that photo the two sausages are quite big, they’d be at least 4pp each, then the bacon wrapped round them.  That’s a huge dinner;

Beef 13pp
Potato 5pp
3 Yorkshires 6pp
Peas 3pp
Stuffing 2pp
Carrots 1pp
Sausages 10pp
Roasters x 3 = 7pp
Gravy – 3pp
Approximate total = 50pp!

What a guess!  I’ve just found the nutritional information for that meal on their website;

That works out at 49pp!  WOW!

I actually didn’t eat very much of my Indian we each ordered a different dish and they all looked and tasted the same, a red colour that can’t come from anything natural, so I won’t have done too much damage with that meal.

We’re off to the hospital this morning for mom’s pre op, it says to allow 2-3 hours so that’s today sorted more or less.  I better get ready.
Have a great day BeYOUtiful xx
