I do love food...

Saturday 4th September 2021
Eat like you love yourself.

I enjoyed my food so much yesterday, actually I enjoyed my day, a very, old friend knocked the door who I haven't seen in over a decade, they couldn't stay because they'd took so long to find the house lol but they'd lost my number and had a new one themselves so wanted to put a note through the door so we could reconnect, we chatted on the phone for half hour whilst they drove to the airport and agreed next time they're passing we'd have a proper catch up, made my morning that did, I haven't seen so many people for so long, it's good to be able to open the door and invite them in, I couldn't do that with mom, it just wasn't feasible.

Vicky came for a couple of hours too on the afternoon and we had a catch up, then I phoned Lynne for a phone chat because she works all the time so I don't get to see her anymore, yeah a good day had.

Food wise, oh I did enjoy everything I ate, I did an inventory on my fridge and freezer so now I know exactly what foods are in there and how many calories to help me plan meals, that was useful and reminded me what's in there, there are a few freezer surprises, I need to start labelling stuff I freeze!

I've suddenly taken a liking to baked beans, so this was breakfast.  364 calories

Now this was lush, I roasted my butternut squash, threw in a few spinach leaves right before I ate it as an afterthought but it made a difference, would've been better stirred through in the pan but hey.  My YAY moment here was splitting the packet because it says 2 servings and freezing the other half, together with instructions and barcode for scanning when I eat it.  That's a big thing for me because usually I'd just eat the lot. I grated a tiny bit of parmesan on the top too.  529 calories

Chunky fish finger tacos with white cabbage salad topped with tartare sauce, now there's only 3 on the photo but I could 4 as there was four in the freezer (note to self - it's okay to leave 1 of something in there) but to be honest 2 of them would have been plenty, they work out at 105 calories per fish finger, they are easily twice the size of ordinary ones, yeah you get 4 birds fingers for 236 calories.  My tacos were 56 calories each, I bought Sainsbury's home branded ones and they tasted exactly the same, tacos keep for ages in a bread bin too, well the last lot I had did, they were Old El Paso ones and are 66 calories.

I also had an actimel and wine, no snacks yesterday because I enjoyed my food so much and found stuff to do with my time too.  I watched the new Cinderella movie on Amazon prime, also caught up with Masterchef, that makes me hungry :) and I did a workout, I wish my knee was stronger but I'm not giving up.

It was the start of week 4 of 30 minutes a day exercise, when I started I really wasn't feeling it when I pressed play, but by the end of it I was buzzing and his pep talk at the end of the video summed me up completely, here's to a future of moving my body more!  Body Project thank you!

I was going to leave it a month to take measurements but I've just done it and I've lost 2cm off my arm, 4cm off my waist, 3cm off my hips and nothing from my thighs.  I'll take that to say I haven't lost any weight in those 3 weeks, I've actually gained a little.  Toning up and building a little muscle will help burn a few more calories a day which will hopefully help me lose some weight.

I'm looking forward to the weekend ahead, got our huddle this morning, will come home walk Alfie and knock up something delicious for dinner, not sure what I fancy yet but I know what's available in the kitchen.  I think I need to sort my bedroom out, my clothes are all over the floor, I need to do a 'fit me now' and a 'hopefully fit me again one day' pile so I don't keep having to try on 3 or 4 things to get something that fits me!

Let's have a lovely weekend shall we, whatever you're up to.

Mwah, luv ya

Love me xx
