Check me out - planning!

Thursday 8th September 2021
You've got to look for the good in the bad, the happy in your sad, the gain in your pain and what makes you grateful not hateful.

Good morning, well we've thankfully had a little rain, might cool it down a little, especially as it's forecast thunderstorms later.  I've managed to sleep better too, just over 7 hours, more than enough at the moment, I'd doing quite well on less, I'm setting my alarm a little later at 6am, it means some days I have to do my exercise in the afternoon but that's working well too.

Well my meals were backwards yesterday, I took the porridge from the fridge to bring to room temperature but when I come to eat it, it wasn't the porridge it was the potato salad, so I threw a bit of ham in it and enjoyed that for breakfast, had the overnight oats and banana for my tea, for my lunch, I had the rest of the barbequed potatoes quartered and warmed up in oven with an egg and baked beans and check me out, I left some!  You're impressed ain't ya :) I was, I think it was because I was sitting in the garden and concentrating on eating and I realised I'd had enough, I'd only eat the rest for the sake of it.

Plus I know the weekend won't be as good so I'm doing what I can when I can.  Pleased with yesterday, finished on 1303 calories, the Fitbit tells me I burned 2415 cals, 78 active minutes with 12,658 steps.

No wine again, so that's two days for my body to recover, might even do another one today, seeing that 3lb weight loss this week has motivated me to get this sorted, I'm enjoying feeling more energetic and my body is recovering quicker every time I do one of the workouts, so glad I found the Body Project Body Project - YouTube really enjoy their stuff.

Afternoon work yesterday morning I sat in the garden as workmen were next door again so it's noisy in the house, I finished my book, then played some old tunes (Limp Bizket, Pearl Jam, Soul Asylum, Pink Floyd) proper loud stuff lol and as a complete contrast I sat crocheting, I'd seen a poncho I quite liked but when I clicked the link they wanted £340 - erm I don't think so!  On further inspection, I liked the idea but not the collar and I wanted something more delicate, so I've started making my own, no pattern, just an idea, it'll be interesting if it works, if it doesn't it'll make a lap blanket lol.

It was lovely chilling in the garden and getting my creative on, Alfie snoozing on his stool next to me, thankfully he was asleep because as I'm sat there, this chap appeared;

As you can see, he didn't rush off, gave me time to sit up, put my crochet down, grab my phone and zoom in and focus on him, before deciding that mmm, yes maybe I could be a threat!  Incredible and beautiful, such a shame there so damn destructive and smelly!  Hopefully the can't get under the summerhouse now my brother fox proofed it this year, but I wouldn't be surprised if the find a way at all.

I've got a busy day ahead, Bloxwich for our huddles, I need to go to the butchers either today if I can fit it in or in the morning, I want to make my beef curry tomorrow Bev's Beef & Bone Curry (behappyowls.com) and get tbones, as I said earlier it won't be a brilliant weekend but I'll do my best :)  I've got a lot of living to catch up on haven't I after all those years looking after mom, I knew I'd get my life back eventually, although I may have doubted it at times, that's what kept me going.

Actually I've just looked and nutracheck reckons a 16oz tbone steak is only 582 calories and as I'm planning to have it with salad and a few onion rings, that's just made my day!  My beef curry isn't bad either compared to a takeaway, plus I'd have less sides with it than I would if I ordered in.  Look at me all in control and planning, you're getting more impressed by the minute ain't ya :)

Need to stop typing and get ready for work, I've got to leave in less than an hour and I'm still in my pj's!

Mwah, luv ya

Love me xx
