Good morning, another hot day ahead.

Monday 12th June 2023
After the storm comes the calm

I don't wanna say it, but it was too hot for us yesterday in this household!  I was glad of that storm, it did clear the air for a while, I'll stop moaning about the weather now - honest.

A quiet weekend for us, I enjoyed the huddle Saturday morning, came home and check me out I did manage to do some weeding in the garden, filled two large bin bags with this stuff! Horses tail or Mare's tail, call it what you will, grow like mad and won't be got rid off is the truth and now I have it in my garden, it's going to be a constant battle.

As my brother said Saturday night, they reckon when the ice age ended and all dinosaurs were wiped out this stuff was still growing!  But on a positive, I managed to do it despite my pain, I just kept taking breaks to rest and it worked.

himself got home about 4, I went and picked my bro and his wife up and we went and enjoyed a few hours over the local, we were home by half 9 and because we hadn't eaten, we had a sandwich before going to bed and going straight to sleep because we were shattered, rock and roll life style right there!  I couldn't fall asleep till I knew the final score of the Man City game, no I'm not a massive football fan but I'd watched the first half in the pub and I wanted to hear the outcome.

Sunday was a lazy day, we had bacon and mushroom sandwiches for breakfast then I cooked a rotiserrie chicken for dinner, had it with chips and Aryn did his easy sticky toffee pudding, here's the basic recipe Quick sticky toffee puddings recipe | BBC Good Food so quick and simple, he's added a spoonful of vanilla essence to the sauce, this time we used Chococino muffins from M&S and topped with a couple of Toffifee, I couldn't eat the portion size he gave me and afterwards I'd wished I hadn't had it because I felt sick, my belly just doesn't handle desserts well at all.

We went up to bed early just so we could close the doors and open all the windows - you can't have windows open all the time when you have house cats!  We just lay watching tele all night, I think I turned it off at 11, we got involved in the series, Sneaky Pete, very good, we'd already watched 4 but we ended up finishing the series!  I've started watching the second series of Your Honour, which I think is brilliant, the first series was excellent and this looks like it will be as good, so that's this weeks viewing, I'm still watching Firefly Lane but in no rush to finish.

I've got my doctors appointment today so I'm hoping for some help.  On a positive, my bestie told me last month that being on the pill could be making my pain worse if it was a progesterone one, which it was, apparenlty because it's giving me even less estrogen than you already have with menopause. Now I only starting taking it as an extra precaution when we first got together but I haven't had a period for over 2 years now so I think I can safely say I'm menopausal so I've stopped taking it and my  overall body pain isn't as bad it was so there could be something in it.  My back and legs no different but I think that's from my back but the neck, body, Gollum in the morning aches and pains are improved somewhat, I have been taking painkillers too though so who knows, but I didn't take any yesterday and I wasn't bad when I woke up this morning.

I'm going to have a good housework day today, it's doing my head in now, I'll start in the kitchen, deep clean, cupboards, fridge etc, then the living room, then I'll spend the rest of the day chilling, oh I've got the notes for the week to do also, but I've already started them,  just need finishing off.

Here's to making Monday matter, having a great day and hoping the weather doesn't kill me.  Ooo, what to eat?  I'm thinking rice with roasted veggies maybe, possibly some fish.  I have some leftover chicken from yesterday which I think I'll have this morning / brunch.

I've woke up feeling good, got up with him at 5, then managed to go back to sleep for an hour, bonus.

Mwah, luv ya

Love me xx
