It doesn't get easier, you get stronger.
Never got to the swimming baths yesterday, had too much to do! I would've gone at half six on the morning but I had to get Aryn up at 7 and I actually managed to sleep in until then so I took advantage of something I don't do very often. Wide awake at half five this morning, sciatica and menopause SUCKS, the last few days I've been waking up in pain, sweating, seized up or with pins and needles in my hands - great joy! My fitbit tells me I've had a good nights sleep though so I'll focus on that positive.
Started our day with a cracking huddle, lovely to catch up with everyone again, I got home about eleven and spent a good hour sorting car insurance out, that's a ball ache and that was only his car, I still have mine to do, I'll leave it till tomorrow though.
I made us a delicious stew and it was delicious, I'm not just saying it. The beef was the best I can remember ever buying, I normally leave my stews on low for a good 3 or 4 hours, this was cooked in under two hours and the beef fell apart, proving if you can find a good butcher, you can't beat them compared to supermarkets. I added Aunt Bessie dumplings as Aryn wanted them but he wasn't impressed with them, wants us to make our own, apparently she's not all that and I should stop relying on her to cook my food lol.
I'm not gonna lie, I did top that bowl up and have a slice of bread and butter too, all tracked though. I actually ended my day under 1500 calories so chuffed with that because the temptation is real and he's sitting next to me eating chocolates and fizzy sweets all night, I resisted.
Aryn had an hospital appointment, that went well, it's going to be a long process but I can't fault the paediatrician, £3.80 to park for just over an hour is ridiculous though!
We nipped in Sainsbury's to get a bit of fruit for Aryn on the way home, doctor reminded him of the importance of eating it, even if we make our own smoothies, it'll be a few days before he can eat the bananas though, they're green as grass apparently they're having supply issues.
I think I'm going to have mushrooms for breakfast, I picked some up yesterday, I was going to have them on toast but I might make an omelette. I need to do a proper shop for veggies and some salad. I might make a big one and leave some for them if they want some, although I just remembered Aryn doesn't like mushrooms. Then we have the rest of the stew for later. I've got salmon in the freezer which I fancy, a lighter meal after all the beef we've been eating, maybe have it with rice or couscous.
We've talked about focusing on the positives in our day in our huddles this week, a couple of mine yesterday would include me and Aryn belly laughing at 'Rate your Plate' on Facebook whilst we were waiting to see the doctor and also him saying 'Have they put a candle in their toilet' as I was quickly scrolling through Facebook posts, I've cropped the post because it was actually an emotional post, but I had to laugh because you can see why he thought it was a loo.
My third of my three good things was Coco helping himself to what was left his bowl of stew that he hadn't took into the kitchen, cute as, if a little unhygienic.
If you had the volume on there, you might work out we're watching an 80s Chuck Norris Texas Ranger film! Yes I live with a man who likes dodgy films, to be fair though although dated and naff, I've seen worse and it held my attention for the duration.
Right I'm off to make an omelette, here's to a healthyish day, do our best, this weeks never an easy week to get on track but trying is better than thinking sod it.
Mwah, luv ya
Love me xx
