Already seeing the power of Flex!

17th November 2017
Sometimes you’ve just gotta talk it out.

 Repeat after me;

Oh yeah, another day in the bag, it’s been a long time since I did 4 days in a row I’m not gonna lie, so yesterday looked like this;

Nice breakfast hash in anticipation of a very busy morning, I used a thick chicken sausage from Penn Road butchers and took it out the skin and rolled it into 6 small meatballs to cook it up quicker, was really tasty with leftover new potatoes, tomatoes and mushrooms all fried in a bit of spray light and egg on top.
After the morning meetings, we went to the Broadway on Lichfield Road for a carvery as it’s just changed to one.  It wasn’t bad, it was our Christmas outing – early I know.  I was impressed I managed to stay on track and not go crazy.  Opted for turkey breast, Yorkshire, 1 parsnip, 1 roaster, scoop of mash and loads of veg, topped with plenty gravy.

Then for my tea I had a bowl of chicken casserole.

Yeah feeling positive, fitted in that well deserved glass of red after a busy day and I’m ready for another day today.  This is likely to be a short blog as Alfie is whining to go for a walk already!

I can’t tell you how much I’m loving the feedback from Flex, it’s absolutely brilliant and making me truly happy.  Some of my members made this fab video yesterday morning for me;

and then my day ended on a fabulous high, my lovely helper and friend Natalie got Flex a week early to trial, she was shaking when I told her she’d lost a staggering 6lb, she never loses that much in a week and she’s truly struggled this year (and last tbh) to stay focused.  I’m so pleased for her, it’s a good sign we’ve all got a good chance that’s for sure.
I’m actually looking forward to weigh day, but first to get through day 5, 6 & 7 of week 1!

I seriously cannot wait for 10.30 Saturday morning when my Facebook group can all start talking Flex because everyone will have heard all about it in the meetings.  I’m looking forward to seeing lots of meal photos and reading all the chat.

Let’s talk about Flex baby!   From Saturday anyway ;) Have a great Friday BeYOUtiful!

Flex Food is Fab!

16th November 2017
Don’t compare your life to others.  There’s no comparison between the sun and the moon, they shine when it’s their time.
Another day in the bag, and delicious it was too!

Breakfast was poached egg on toast and mango with fat free natural yogurt. Delicious!  That Skyr yogurt is really good.
For a late lunch I made, turkey steaks stuffed with Philadelphia light, mushroom, onion, tomato & olives with boiled potatoes (and a smidgen of low fat spread) plus there was butter in the veggies!  This worked really well, mom loved it and I’ll definitely do something like it again.  I basically put one steak on the bottom, then the filling then another on top – they weren’t huge.

I also came home to find a chicken casserole in the oven - yep I put it in before I went out, no one’s cooking for me in this house.  I’m so glad I did though, it was so good and low in Smart Points, plus there’s plenty left for today.

 I even had enough points left for a packet of these (3sp).

No wine last night, busy day today, need all my energy for it, it also means I’m on day 4 and still have a full bank of weeklies and can honestly say I’ve been more than physically and emotionally satisfied where food has been concerned this week.  Loving Flex!

Members are still loving the sound of it too, my 3 helpers from last night who had the plan a week early all lost goal last night, they all enjoyed it too which is far more important as we know Smart Points has always worked.

I’m thinking omelette for breakfast after seeing Nats on Facebook this morning, mine never look quite as good as hers did, but I’ll try, maybe a bit of protein cheese in it, some veggies too.

If you have bought a cookbook over the last year and want the new conversions, here’s the link for the pdfs, we do have handouts in the meetings, I need to order more though so in the interim, you can work them out on this link https://www.weightwatchers.com/uk/m/cms/article/cookbooks-conversion

Some other useful links (and remember until your weigh day when you get to hear all about it you may want to wait until looking)

Welcome to Flex https://www.weightwatchers.com/uk/m/cms/article/welcome-ww-flex there’s a video on this page.

Make sure you’re logged into your Weight Watchers account before pressing the links.

Ooo whilst looking at that lot, I’ve just found a recipe for breakfast hash using new potatoes, guess who’s got cooked leftover new potatoes – might have that now.  I don’t have bacon but I do have chicken sausage, nom nom.  I feel a yummy brekkie coming.  There’s lots of recipes on the WW app and WW online for you to find delicious, quick, easy meals.

On last thought before I go start my day, focus on your success, don’t beat yourself up along the way and enjoy this journey.  If all you’re ever doing is striving for another pound you forget all the ones you’ve already lost, the difference the changes you’ve made had had on your life.

I’ve lost and gained weight continually through my life, I’m a long way from the lightest I’ve ever been, I used to be obsessed by the numbers, I wasn’t a very happy person back then and I was looking for satisfaction and not finding it may I add.

Focus on the healthy and happy peeps, remember the scales are only one way to measure success, other ways I’ve seen lately are members no longer needs their walking stick, being able to go on fairground rides, walk for 45 minutes when they couldn’t walk at all, going from not staying because of anxiety to sitting in the meeting room and enjoying it, not forgetting the miracle baby that was made possible because mom got her healthy on.  It’s not just about the scales, it’s truly not.

We’re all in different stages of our journey, for Mark last night it was his first week and he lost a stonking 12lb, for me, I’ve had a bad month and I’m not going to try and lose the 6lb I’ve gained, for others they’ve been struggling, some have been flying.  The one thing we all have in common is we care about our health and we’re doing what we can, when we can by making sure we are in meetings and focusing on our healthy and happy – you’ve got to be in it to win it.

And you’ve got to enjoy it, we all go through times when we struggle, I’ve had so many members who’ve battled with that last few pounds, stressed out about it for months, then when I’ve convinced them to change their goal weight by a couple of pounds, they strangely lose that couple of pounds afterwards.  Could stressing have something to do with it?  Does our body function well under stress?  I know mine hasn’t this last month and now I’ve relaxed again, I feel better, I want to eat better too.

Anyway, I need to get off the pc, get myself sorted and ready for work, got a busy day ahead.

Have a great day whichever version of Smart Points you’re doing today (remember they both work!)

Catch ya tomorrow BeYOUtiful.

Flex gets off to a positive start!

15th November 2017
Push yourself because no one else is going to do it for you.

WOW!  Yesterday was amazing, full room morning and night all ready to embrace Flex, a few uncertainties, a little caution but overall a great big “YES, let’s do this!” I particularly loved the message I received after the meetings, one said;

"I’m not gonna lie I sh&t myself when I saw new plan but read the gumph, planned most of my meals & I can see a full size double decker being consumed"

Flex makes Smart Points liveable, that’s for sure, the clues in the name FLEXible, my sister has already lost half a stone already on it and my helper Angie 3.5lb (yes they had it a week early). That's a positive sign for sure.

I managed another day on track, even had points for a nice glass of wine, I’m gonna be honest I used a couple of my weeklies and had a second glass, no early morning today so I’m okay, no wine tonight to balance it out ready for my busy full on Thursday.

For breakfast yesterday I had an egg white sandwich, only because Alfie ate my egg yolks, he’s not great at eating so when he shows interest in something that’s good for him, I let him have it.  For lunch I had a chicken dinner made from the Sunday leftovers, that was lush, then last night I had salmon and butternut squash squaffles, I really enjoyed that.  If you use instagram, all my meals get posted on there https://www.instagram.com/bev_ww/

I’ve just took some turkey steaks out of the freezer, they’ve been there a while so need using up, I think I bought them because they were a whoopsie in the co-op.  What to make with them, looking will give me some ideas of what to do with leftover turkey at Christmas if we have one.

This recipe http://www.eatwell101.com/slow-cooked-turkey-leg-recipe looks good, might do something similar in the slow cooker.

Then of course I could just through them into a curry sauce for quickness or roll them up and stuff with some cream cheese of some sort.  Ooo I love that idea and sundried tomatoes, spinach, spring onions nom nom.  So much to eat, so little time ;)

Right back to reality, I’ve got to wait for them to defrost first, I think I’m gonna get tomorrows dinner sorted too, a stew maybe, I’ve spotted stew beef in the freezer so if I take that out, I’m thinking slow cooker beef and veggies, just leave it on all day then I won’t have to stress about tea or maybe slow cooker chicken stew.  Whatever I do, it’ll be in the slow cooker, ooo unless I make a chicken casserole in the oven today ready for tomorrow, oh ma’an I’m making myself hungry.

I want to play in the kitchen this morning now, if I get a wriggle on I might have time, moms got the dentist today and I’ve got meetings later to get ready for, all my paperwork from yesterday, I can fit in an hour in the kitchen I’m sure.  I need a couple of days to sort this mess that is my house out for sure.  It’s full of kids toys for yum tums, I need to have a bit of a clear as I’m having the floors done downstairs soon, going to order the tiles today.

Right, stop talking – start doing, here’s to day 3 for me, whether you’ve started Flex or not, remember Weight Watchers has always worked another few days won’t make any difference and I’ll see you in your meeting.

Have a good one BeYOUtiful. x
