Healthy Monday ahead

Monday 16th August 2021
Never give up, great things take time.

I managed to do the 30 minute workout again,  https://youtu.be/g22GI6OEPDU followed by the 4 minute arm one https://youtu.be/a42wtkZsAfI, but I couldn't do the weeding afterwards, my back was having none of that, I managed to remove one bin bag full before I decided that wasn't the best idea. Apparently joint pain is yet another symptom of the menopause, aren't we ladies just the luckiest people! My knee is inflamed again, no surprise there, so I will do 30 minutes today but I'll do a walking video I think, less stress on it. Maybe I'll look for some other videos that are also easy on the joints. I will get active and strengthen my body again, but I will do it slowly!

Calorie wise, I have a lot of work to do!  I enjoy food so much and I have a big appetite and a lot of spare time!  I ended on 2344 calories which is too many, I want to get it under 2,000 and I know I can do that.  For example this meal was delicious, but there's too much on there, I didn't eat the last spud, but realistically, the meal itself is okay as a main meal coming in at just under 600 calories.  It's what I ate after that's the problem, I then had another big meal at tea time, I had my beef curry out the freezer with some rice and I'd already had egg on toast for breakfast.

I'm using up the food I have in the freezer and cupboards so no salads and stuff at the moment, plus now I'm out of eggs, I'll go shopping this weekend and stock up but until then, it's using what I have.

Meat free Monday today, I'm thinking the Linda McCartney 1/4lbs that I have, with some of the leftover cooked potatoes, I might roast them and make them crispy on the outside. I have the other half of the cabbage and some peas from an open can (canned peas are nasty compared to frozen I have to say). I could have tomatoes on toast for breakfast, that's a healthy low calorie meal, which leaves one meal, I could use the other half of the tomatoes and have with some spaghetti, ah there will still be the other potatoes, it was a 750g bag, I could make a nice potato salad and have it with veggie sticks. There I have choices!

Another thing I've realised, when I freeze my curry, it needs to be in smaller portions, the one I defrosted yesterday was massive, so I'll start to weigh the tubs before freezing in future.

It's all a learning curve, my life is completely different now and I don't expect to change overnight, I know the person I'd like to be but I also like the lazy bitch I am who sits watching tv all afternoon, I need a compromise somewhere in the middle and patience as I make the changes necessary. Are you giving yourself a hard time trying to be something you're not or that takes more effort than you're willing to put in?

Elle has started giving me a Christmas countdown! It was 19 weeks on Saturday gone, those weeks will soon roll round won't they. What would you like to achieve by then? I'd just like some routine in my life and a healthy kitchen that encourages 3 healthy meals a day! A half stone weight loss would be nice too :)

Here's to a healthy Monday,

Mwah, luv ya

Love me x
