The supreme accomplishment is to blur the
line between work and play. Arnold Toynbee
To say I’m a little bit proud of my members
would be an understatement, these are their results for the first month of
January, bearing in mind not many lost that first week back after Christmas.

Yes I think we can say January was a very
successful month, especially as a lot of us struggled through it. I’m still amazed how quickly the year has
passed already, 2012 arrived &
we’re already in February, don’t let this year pass you by.
It’s easy
to join Weight Watchers; It’s harder to stay the distance. Don’t see it as a diet - see it as a journey.
Let Weight Watchers be your vehicle, I’ll be your Sat Nav and your meetings are
your pit stops. I’m sure you’d agree no one likes to travel alone!
Weight Watchers works because of the group support and I
love to see my members every week interacting with each other. Monday morning’s at Bloxwich may be my
smallest group but they really connect with each other and it’s great to see
them openly talking about their struggles and sharing their ideas.
For me it’s a community and they’re something we haven’t
got so much of these days. Technology
and lifestyles have led to a lifestyle where everyone works long hours then stay
in their homes most of the time, they all communicate via phones and internet
connections and watch the world on television or escape from it through
computer games.
So it’s great to see groups of like minded people getting
together every week and helping each other, not forgetting having a laugh at
the same time.
This month you have an opportunity to introduce friends
and family to your Weight Watcher community as their first week will be totally
free of charge (no joining fee, no weekly fee).
If you know someone who’s curious or you’d like a pal to come along with
you, why not ask them.
Here’s a recipe for you to try today, my mates been
feeding it to her kids regularly for weeks now and they love it, so it must be
good as they’re fussy!
Chicken, ham
& pea risotto,
Serves 4, 14pp each Prep time 5 minutes, cooking time 35 minutes
50g low fat spread (5pp)
325g skinless chicken breast, sliced (8pp)
1 onion, peeled & sliced
240g long grain rice (23pp)
70g pack wafer thin honey roast ham (2pp)
300g broccoli florets
400g frozen British garden peas (9pp)
20g low fat soft cheese (1pp)
70g grated cheese (8pp)
Heat half the spread in a large saucepan and fry
the chicken for 6–8 minutes, until browned and fully cooked through. Remove
from the pan and set aside.
Add the remaining spread to the pan and cook the
onion for 5 minutes, until soft. Stir in the rice and cook for a further
minute.
Gradually add the stock, a ladle at a time,
stirring frequently, adding more as the liquid is absorbed. Cook slowly over a
low heat for about 15 minutes, until nearly all the stock has been absorbed.
Add the chicken, ham, broccoli and peas, and cook for a further 5 minutes.
Stir through the soft cheese. Scatter over the
grated cheese, grind on freshly ground black pepper and serve.
Have a fabulous day - I will.
