One week done and in the bag!

Monday 8th January 2024

I managed a full week of tracking - YAY!  Anyone who knows me, knows I'm not a fan of tracking, but I know it really does help with weight loss and Elle proved to me last year that even if you don't stick to your calorie allowance every day, keeping a record of what you are having really does help.  She proved it with her weight loss success throughout the year, so that's my aim to track regarding.

My day started with mushroom and red pepper eggs, I'd say an omelette but it wasn't in one piece by the time it left the pan :) it was delicious though and light cheese triangles are working as well as butter if not better.  That's Pat's bread, it's Irish and only 58 calories a slice, I'm going to miss it when I've used it up, I know I can get similar but this is just a little better I think, well I'll know for sure when I have to change.

I used up two bags of Brussell sprouts by making this soup, Simple Brussels Sprout Soup - Everyday Healthy Recipes I didn't put the butter in and used chicken stock instead of vegetable as it was all I had.  Made double quantity and mine worked out at 148 calories for a 300g portion, I've got 6 full portions and a half portion which we used for tasting.  I was impressed, if you like soup, you'll like it.  It doesn't have that 'sprout' taste, I think it's the peas that take that away, it's just a good soup flavour.  Don't be put off the 'greenness' :)

Dinner time was simple, I used up the last of the frozen fish in batter from the freezer and the waffles I had left, so a simple meal but easy to eat for himself who's not great still.  He's coming out the other side but his cough is still harsh, he started about 5am and coughed for a good hour, poor love.

I even had a healthy snack, check me out!  I actually enjoyed it, although Hummus isn't low in calories, it is healthy though, even though it's quite high in fat, it's good fat and we all need some fat in our diet.  I only ate 1/4 of the tub.

Add to it a bit of wine and my day ended on 1414 calories, so despite the beginning of last week being OUCH, I pulled it back!  I consumed 12148 and am in credit of 350  calories - GO ME!  I am in deficit of 57 calories for my exercise though, I didn't move much at all yesterday, Nutracheck give me a target of 200 calories and I only did 49 = ouch!

I've got two appointments today, the first is my final check up at the Nuffield after my 6 month pain management course, I haven't been to the gym for probably a month so if they do offer me the discounted membership, I'm going to sign up because Elle told me I should!  She's right too, I was making myself go when I had the course, it was helping a little and the plan to walk for 20 minutes every day with Aryn hasn't happened once!  It's a way to go for 20-30 minutes of exercise but I'm worth the effort and if I can go a minimum of 3 times a week, it's worth it.

I also have a doctors appointment regarding my HRT patches, I can't carry on bleeding every other week, it's ridiculous and draining!

Looking forward to my HelloFresh box arriving today, that's no thinking necessary for the next four days, just asked Aryn and he's picked chicken in smashed tomato sauce with cheese and pesto couscous for today, 656 calories plus a bit for the none included ingredients which will take it to 700 calories.  Let's see if mine looks like this.
Right, what to have for breakfast?  I've got a tub of Greek yogurt I bought when I went shopping, I could have that with banana and apple.  I do like something warm though, like eggs, I could have yogurt and fruit for lunch.  I was impressed with myself yesterday for making him something different for breakfast and me not feeling I had to have the same, sausages and bacon are nice but not compulsory at weekends!  I'd rather see a weight loss...

Here's to making Monday matter, taking it all one day at a time, progress not perfection and all that.

Mwah, luv ya

Love me xx
