Take action this August

Tuesday 1st August 2023

Well my July ended well, I had a very, good day yesterday.  Aryn was discharged from the hospital which was brilliant news and the doctor was so lovely, she was actually emotional and said lovely things about both of us which was very touching.

We then went to the gym and I managed to do half hour of various cardio machines, I can't do the treadmill it hurts my back/leg after a few minutes, but I managed 10 mins on the rowing machine, 10 minutes on the cycle, 5 mins on treadmill and a few mins messing about on two other machines.  All were at a low level but I managed it so it's a start, I'm hoping to build up my muscles to help my joints and ease my pain a little.  It's definitely helping that Aryn wants to go to the gym because I have to go then, no talking my way out of it.

Later I went to my joint pain management where we did the cardio machines so I did another 15 minutes there too.  My fitbit app says I managed 51 active minutes and 9,177 steps which I'm chuffed with, especially as I was in pain when I arrived at both gyms!

Let's take Action this August shall we?  Whether it is activity or your food intake, if you don't make changes nothing will change!  And you can make as many changes as you need and you can keep making them over and over again until they eventually stick, it's not a one time chance.

What do you know would help you the most?  I know I need to track, it really does make me aware, so here's to 31 days of tracking honestly and 100%.  I need to get some meals planned and use up some of the food in the freezer, I have stew for today, but I'm thinking salmon tomorrow, salad and veggies need putting back in my diet too, not just frozen peas!

I need to sort my laundry, I never let it get that piled up, how will this help with my diet you may ask, organisation makes me feel better, clutter in my life spills over into how I eat believe it or not because it affects how I feel and think.  Why have I left it, well partly because we had a lazy weekend, yesterday I was in pain and busy but I think the real reason is because I've bought a new iron and I've got to work out how to use it, then actually use it and who enjoys ironing!  I'm going to go into it focusing on the calories I'll burn doing it.

We did a little chair yoga and gentle yoga last week at the joint pain management course and I enjoyed it so I want to find some on Youtube to do a little, I need to remember just ten minutes a day will make a difference, it doesn't have to be an hour long class.

I've managed 7 hours 27 mins sleep but I dreamt a lot last night, spent almost 2.5 hours in REM according to the fitbit and I kept going back into the same dream, which wasn't a pleasant one at all, full on scary film style nightmare - very weird not sure what triggered that at all.

But thankfully it was only a dream and everyone's still alive :) here's to a none scary day ahead and taking action this August.

Mwah, luv ya

Love me x
