Doing what I can!

Thursday 3rd August 2023

2,395!  Yep that's how many calories I consumed yesterday, so as you can see, I need to work on my food intake.  However I'm focusing on the positives which include the fact that my fitbit tells me I burned 2,561 calories, took 6,310 steps and had 109 active zone minutes, 24 of those were cardio & peak, the others in fat burn zone.

Aryn and I went to the gym again and I was really pleased that I was able to do 30 minutes of cardio, 10 minutes on the rowing machine, which is a total body workout apparently and I like it because it doesn't seem to aggravate my knee or back issue, I upped the intensity from 1 last time to 4 this time, managing 1.4km so a little further than last time.  I then did 15 minutes on the bike, again intensity up to 5, 2.45km.

There's this machine there that is a Lateral Elliptical Trainer apparently, I've just googled it - wow, you can have the pedals narrow, middle or wide!  When we went Monday I managed 2.5 minutes before the sweat was pouring out of me, yesterday I did 3 minutes, 1 minutes at each of the narrow, middle, wide settings, I really want to try and build this up a little bit each time we go because it really gets my heart rate up and as yet other than muscle ache it doesn't seem to aggravate my knee or back, that could of course be because I haven't been on it long enough, but we shall see.

I finished off with 5 minutes on the treadmill, walking at an incline of 3 and a speed of 3 also, I can't do that for long before the pain is vile, so I'll skip it going forward.  In total I managed 33 minutes and covered 4.43km on the various machines.  It's nothing spectacular compared to others and to my previous self but I was really pleased that despite being in pain when I got there, I still managed to do something, we'll return to do it again tomorrow.  3 times a week is a great start for both of us.  Aryn's running on the treadmill and getting better already, oh to be young ay!

Have you thought about Thumbs Up Thurdays?  Tell me something good that happened to you this week!  For me, the hospital appointment Monday was wonderful, going to the gym and being able to do anything, getting a refund from Ubereats for a delivery that was cold on Monday!  Using my new iron, I'm thankful for being able to afford it then being able to use it without crying from pain lol.

My entire week has been good if I'm honest, I've enjoyed work, home life and rest, all calm on the western front this week which is always a good thing.

I sat and did a few puzzles in a puzzle book yesterday, so it appears I'm turning into my mom now, I enjoyed it too, keep my brain active.

Thankfully I didn't sleep in this morning, so I'm going to go have a second mug of tea, grab me a bottle of water to take to work and make me something to eat.

Here's to having a great day.

Mwah, luv ya

Love me x
