And we're home...

Monday 5th June 2023
Embrace Mondays even on tough weeks.

It's half six Monday morning, we got home about six hours ago, so not a lot of sleep been had, but he's gone off to work and Aryn's gonna be gutted to find out he's going to school this morning!  For a week that went really quickly, it feels like a very long time since I've been in my own bed, my cats were certainly pleased to see me, I've had a cuddle with both of them this morning.  I'm now sat here looking at suitcases knowing it's gonna be a busy day of sorting stuff out and getting ready for huddles too, thankfully Elle's helped me out with the latter I wonder if she fancies coming round and cleaning my house from head to toe :)

A week in Corfu, our first family holiday that started on an aeroplane, how did it go?  we had a great time, it went exactly as I expected if I'm honest.  Aryn does not like hot weather!  To make it worse, he got heat rash, which flared up every day from about Wednesday, poor lad.  Highlight of the week was the villa pool, thankfully the villa had air conditioning so he could keep himself cool and playing in the pool was so much fun all round, watching him and his dad playing together was lovely, then all three of us having fun together in the pool too.

They have the most incredible storms, thunder, lightning and heavy rain, thankfully the will usually lte in the afternoon when we were glad to clear the air.  The also have evil mosquitos, I've been eaten alive, I react to them too, so end up with an itchy mark the size of a coaster, thankfully Aryn wasn't bit so that's a bonus.

We enjoyed meals out with my brother and his wife and they also came over a couple of times and he cooked us a bbq and made us his special vodka cocktails, omg, doing that Saturday the night before we fly home was not a very, clever idea!  Waking up Sunday morning, then having to pack our cases whilst feeling delicate, having to be out by ten - ouch!

We also went on some scary road trips to see beautiful parts of the island, but driving on those roads is horrid, I'm not a fan, I'm mean seriously just the road up to my brothers house is crazy, it's just one hairpin after another with half the road falling away down the sides of the hill!  We drove over the mountain to the other side of the island, again, hairpin road which in places is mostly single track, it does take your breathe away, partly fear, partly the views.

The flight home was a better experience than the one going out, getting through Corfu check-in and security was much easier and the staff much more polite and helpful.  It was a loud flight with a lot of small children but that can't be helped - Aryn wasn't impressed much, what with the noise and again, they forgot to bring him the drink he'd ordered, as they did on the way out, took 20 minutes, they only remembered after being reminded.  Himself didn't get a meal because the meal he wanted had again run out, same on the way out - oops, one of the options was prawns but I'm allergic aren't I so the boys don't like to eat them round me anymore after the last time I had a reaction.

There's so much more that happened on the week but as you can imagine, I'm sleep deprived so can't recall it at the minute.

I am ready for some of my own cooking, I fancy mashed potatoes with something for dinner later, I want some vegetables, petit pois :) it's the little things I miss when I'm away.  I'm looking forward to getting my healthy back, getting back on track and losing some weight.

Today though my main focus is sorting this house and getting ready for the week ahead, followed by a very, early night!

Here's to a great week,

Luv ya

Love me x
