We got this BeYOUtiful!

Friday 5th January 2024

Well I've been home just over 24 hours and it's lovely to be back!  We arrived just after 3am shattered as you can imagine, it's a hell of a trek, I say it every time we travel and it doesn't get any easier and fair play to himself doing that drive feeling how he did because the weather was dreadful too.

I managed a few hours sleep but woke at 8 so went to the huddle to see Elle and our members, it was lovely to be back and even better when I stepped on the scales, I'd only gained 1/2lb all over the Christmas period since I last weighed on December 19th, I was thrilled, all that sensible shopping with the help of Aryn really made a difference, he'd said no everytime I'd asked 'do you want' as I pointed at the treat stuff and because of that, we didn't have any of it in the house.  I'd also been more active than usual hadn't I, my average step count had gone up 3,000 steps a day and I'd been carrying all those logs!

That's helped given me motivation to keep going now and lose those pounds!

To help me I've ordered an Hello Fresh box, if you fancy giving it a go, here's the link to get  60% off 1st box, 25% off for 10 weeks, and I get £45 credit after they place an order using your referral code which will help me enormously I won't lie! Hello Fresh offer

I can't wait for them to arrive Monday, save me thinking for a few days, just need to feed us for the next few days first.  I'm thinking a chicken casserole/hot pot today, or Garlic Chicken just need to nip to the shops to get some ingredients because my fridge looks like this...

The fact it was virtually empty encouraged me to give it a clear out yesterday ready to refill.  There's a little in it now that we bought back from Ireland, spread, cheese triangles and milk oh and this yogurt.

I was going to snack on it when I got back yesterday but thought twice when I saw the calories!  Instead I made this for an extra 100 calories.

It was delicious and I replaced the butter with cheese triangle, I'll buy the light ones next time I shop, more to save on saturated fat rather than calories, but look at the comparisons.

I've been consuming a lot of butter over the last few months, it's not helping my cholesterol levels is it, so that's an easy switch I can make.  My Nutracheck app is telling me I can have 21.8g of saturated fat a day so I can have the full fat stuff, I just need to decide what's worth spending it on!

For dinner when I got back last night, I used up the Lidl's basil pesto I'd brought back from Ireland, WOW, if I'd looked beforehand I probably wouldn't have purchased it, over 900 calories in the tub, and it was a tiny tub ;) the meal overall was okay in calories, but I could've eaten twice as much!  It wasn't the best pesto I've ever had either.

The numbers are calories, fibre, fat & saturated fat, that's what I've chosen to see at the minute.  10g of fibre in my meal was good for sure, I can't tell wholewheat from white pasta if I'm honest, rice I can but not pasta.

I did indulge in wine when I was home because I had an open bottle from Wednesday and we don't want it going off now do we :) I still ended my day under my allowance for the first time this year, I managed 8,524 steps despite only having 4 hours sleep and last night I managed 8 hours 53 mins sleep, feeling much more human today!

Now for day 5 of tracking and doing my best, eggs probably for breakfast again, no wine today will help but I'm not promising, cutting down not giving up.

Here's to a great day, as Elle said yesterday this week and next won't be fun trying to get back on track after all the indulging we've done - but we can do it!

Mwah, luv ya

Love me xx
