Weight loss & handbags!

Monday 9th November 2015
Do something today that your future self will be proud of.

Phew I lost the weight I gained last week and a little more thankfully, so now I'm only 12.5lb from where I'd like to be that sounds so much better than 18lb, it's taken 5 weeks to lose 5.5lb, I'll take that, quite readily as I'll never be the perfect Weight Watcher, plus I ate out twice this week - boom to the T-bone steak :)

Happy to just see the scales going in the right direction.  I wonder if it's the stint as domestic goddess that's helped, I've burnt off the calories!  I did say I'd do a bit this weekend and I haven' I've done the hall, stairs and landing, moms bedroom, changed both beds and we now have cuddly winter flannelette bedding, makes you wanna stay there, apparently some call it brushed cotton moms just informed me and followed that with "whatever it is, it's great!" and I agree with her, it is.  Then I did the kitchen too, so we're getting there.  Living room ain't too bad anyway, just needs a tidy, mom hovered there Friday.  It's my office and bedroom that's the challenge and one I have delayed yet again, although I have cleared the floor in my office, so that's a start!  On the bright side, I have a house to live in whatever state it's in and some don't!

Which takes me nicely onto my next topic!  You're probably getting proper fed up of me scrounging but I don't care, you already know I'm after food for the local food banks, however I've agreed to be the local co-ordinator for this great event https://www.facebook.com/events/551839188297779/ (please follow the link, accept and share and/or invite others, it would only let me invite so many of my friends)

Anyway this is what it's all about,

Helping Handbags

Do you have a handbag in your wardrobe which you haven't used for a while?

Do you have any unused toiletries/ sample products etc sitting in your bathroom cupboard?

Would you like to help support someone this Christmas?

YOU can help & make a difference to a homeless woman or lady in sheltered accommodation/ refuge this Christmas

All you have to do, is fill a handbag with items of your choice & deliver to your local 'Donation Station'  (that being me locally at any of my meetings)

Thank you on behalf of all the women who will benefit from your much needed support.

Although women are in the minority in the homeless community, they still take up approx 26% of homeless services & experience high levels of vulnerability. These women are likely to have greater levels of mental health issues than men as a result of physical or mental abuse, childhood spent in care, drug or alcohol dependencies or other traumatic experiences.

According to Crisis "over 20% of women became homeless to escape violence from someone they knew, with the majority of these (70%) fleeing violence from a partner."

So come of folks, let's help out, we all have that Christmas set we were bought that we aren't going to use, if you're one of my Bloxwich girls, they usually have handbags for sale on their stall.  I think it's a wonderful idea and I'd love us all to get involved.  For those who'd like to do it, whether you're still a member or not, you can still drop them into any of my meetings;
